Hi so I'm thinking of getting Mario Party as a game to play with kind of non-gamers when we are allowed to mix again.

I've never played a Mario Party game, I like the idea of them and the main reason I'm thinking of getting it is to play with other people (one day :( ). But is it any good to occasionally muck about in one-player mode? / Is it any good at all?

Thanks for any advice :D

I think the switch one is pretty decent to play with non gamers, but unfortunately doesn't really hold up in single player for me. Its fairly shallow and streamlined but I've still had fun with it,in multiplayer.

4 joycon are needed for 4 player though.

Wrestling Empire has launched on Switch. Having watched a few vids, I'm wondering if it could be in the "it's so bad it's good" category. It looks genuinely funny :-).

I downloaded this on Monday and while it is pretty janky, I'd say it's definitely worth a look for any fans of wrestling out there. The in ring action is quite fun, and because of the way everything interacts you can end up with some really cool spots (and also some hilarious ones).

The career mode is also surprisingly good, it's basically just random how things play out but you can end up with some engaging and hilarious moments. I'd been offered a contract at All American Wrestling (basically WWE), and after accidentally killing another wrestler in a match Vince McMahon forced me to change my name to Cathedral Misawa. I actually ended up winning the tag titles with Owen Hart and also the US title, before ending up in a feud with my previous tag team partner Shawn Michaels (we had broken up after I refused to lend him 5k). Despite holding two titles Vince McMahon then fired me for not increasing my strength to a certain threshold before a deadline

Ha! That's great timing, sawyerpip - I tried the demo this morning, too! It's definitely a "B"/"C" kinda game in terms of graphical presentation but, yeah, it's surprisingly comprehensive and seems to be a genuinely decent wrestler. The demo throws a ton of "move" information at you and although the gameplay is a little janky, it's fun to play. I saw that it has a 20% discount (making it around £15) that runs out today; the price then goes up to £20. I'm interested to see what reviewers think of it.

The creator has said he will be releasing a lot of free content for the game, I think in one tweet he suggested the game would triple in size over time so I'm interested to see how that plays out.

He also has some older games that are very similar called Wrestling Revolution and Wrestling Revolution 3D which both look to be free on Android and Apple, in case anyone was interested in the concept but the price was a bit high.

So, line up so far

Feb: Super Mario 3D World
Mar: Monster Hunter Rise
Apr: New Pokemon Snap

Wonder if they will have something lined up for May?

Blue Fire has been gived a release date 2.4.21. Very interested in this; fast paced 3d platformer looks very at home on the Switch

Feb has Bravely Default II too.

It's not a bad lineup for first months especially when there is possibility of something Zelda related coming in for the anniversary.

Things are looking better for the first half of the year. Pokémon Snap will hopefully be a substantial game.

Wish my image sig would work

Probably something else Pokémon related, maybe a couple more bits depending how much they want to push the 25th anniversary.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Those vehicles hover actually ;)

But seriously, that's why I always thought the original looked pretty dull.

Also, it's pretty clear we're not getting a big general direct anytime soon.

Twitter drops and more partner showcases are going to be the normal for awhile I think.

It's what we refer to as a call-back dear, do try to keep up. ;)

EDIT: But yeah to be a non dick about it I'm not interested either way but it's nice to see that this looks like it is going to make fans of the original very happy so that seems like a good thing as there were lots of them!

What are the usual sources saying these days, it seems like a while since anyone quoted something from Nate or KingZell in here?

I think they both went silent after their predictions last year never panned out
