Second half of 2021 is looking for me like

July - Skyward Sword HD
August - No More Heroes 3
September - Wind Waker HD
October -
November - Twilight Princess HD, Pokemon D/P remakes
December -

Maybe they then could have a 2D Metroid and new 3D Donkey Kong game for the Oct/Dec slots?

More importantly (IMHO): if we’re getting any more big new games this year, why finish up with a 2022 release?

I feel like the 3D Donkey Kong would take priority over Splatoon, wouldn’t it? If it’s any good I mean, and anywhere near ready for this year. I worry that we might not even see something of that magnitude. Maybe a WarioWare?

Also that schedule as it stands looks about right, but it’s awful. Remember 2019, when September was absolutely wild? What do we have now? WWHD, again. Gee thanks.

I wonder if they saved the big hitters for the end of this year for the E3 timed Direct? I can only assume they didn't want to blow their 2021 load this early for whatever reason. I agree though, its a poor line up in terms of new stuff.

Thinking about 2022, Breath of the Wild 2 and Splatoon 3....that is part of the line up that we got in 2017, could this mean we also get Odyssey 2 next year :shifty:

Perhaps if the LA remake was successful we will see new games in that vein

Maybe it was aiming for the end of this year but got pushed back? Please remember they announced Prime 4 with nothing but a logo and it was so far off it didnt even have a date but (and despite our best jokes) I'm pretty sure Nintendo have announced and released games since then. They once announced Smash when it didnt even have a team making it yet.

I think it's entirely possible they're holding back their H2 lineup because it isn't cemented yet and there is still uncertainty from the pandemic etc.

They may have closed with Splatoon 3 because they know it won't be ready for this year so there is no issue over it slipping.

It is, along with 2D Metroid and other 'handheld' Nintendo games

No way is 2D Zelda dead, Link's Awakening has sold like 5m copies.

Metroid might well be as Samus Returns bombed, but I still think it may get another go. Mercurysteam haven't released a game since 2017. That is a long time to go without a release.

Probably not happy to show them yet + E3 is coming up so have to save some announcements for that period.

Nintendo got really strawberry floated by Covid in terms of working. Japanese companies were not ready for remote working at all - heard this from many different Japanese people all working at different companies. Essentially technology wise Japan is quite forward thinking but their businesses are still stuck thinking it's the bubble.

 Your really in a gooseberry fool with them today aren't you? I came to this conclusion about a year ago and have just come to accept the console to be my indie game companion.

Nintendo are strawberry floating dead to me.

I'm going to upload a video of me smashing my Switch with a hammer whilst I rant about how they've betrayed their core audience!

Yeah they’ve obviously been impacted a lot by Covid, I don’t get how ports of Twilight Princess and/or Wind Waker wouldn’t be ready to show, they’re arguably good to go as is once they’ve been ported over, don’t even need to add another control method! ;)

I do hope the general consensus is right though, in that they’re saving stuff for an E3 direct and just a few other games in general for the rest of the year, if not then this year is heavily propped up by ports.

I've not watched a Direct in ages. Whilst it wasn't jaw dropping in terms of announcements I did enjoy it and am excited for some of the stuff...
- Opening with a new Smash character made me wanna go back to Smash.
- I downloaded the free opener of the Capcom arcade thingy and spent well over an hour on 1943 last night.
- Got the Triangle Strategy demo and thought that it looked awesome - Octopath Tactics!
- Genuinely smiled and did a little yay for Mario Golf.
- Was hoping the Zelda was Wind Waker and/or Twilight Princess HD getting shown but Skyward Sword will do. Can honestly say I enjoyed but never finished the original. And the Joycons made me wee a little.
- No More Heroes 3 will be fun.
- Mario stuff in AC again makes me wanna return to my Island after so much unnecessary time away.
- Monster Hunter Rise is well known already but the trailer reminded me its close.
- I think ending on Splatoon was a way of saying its a franchise that is here to stay and will make people go back to or buy Splat 2 if only briefly.
- Every thing else seemed okay but nothing grabbed me by the short and curly's.

Burnout Paradise is on offer at £12.50 on the eshop. Anyone have it on Switch? Been keeping an eye on that one for a while, first time I recall seeing it priced that low.

Some cool stuff on discount for the first time such as Huntdown, which I've had my eye on for a long time.
