Question to everybody else who might be so kind to answer too, but I know shyguy is a Kirby fan - please / thanks :D . Noticed its on the online pass.

its a decent enough platformer, the mechanics are slightly different from standard kirby, because theres less of them but you can combine two of them to make new ones. for example you can combine ice and electric to get fridge, i kid you not. over all its a decent enough game but then i find fridge kirby endlessly amusing

Hope you won't mind me paging you here, Rula, but I'd noticed that you've been playing Parkasaurus. How're you getting on with it? I'm not gonna buy it right now (I'm saving for the PlayStation Days of Play offers!) but it looks neat and I may add it to my Switch wish list in anticipation of a sale.

Parkasaurus is a great old-style business management game, which makes looking after the dinos fun. Of course, the campaign won't really allow you to get attached to them until you continue to run the park even after completing the objectives of that particular map, but there's a freemode to get stuck into which will allow you to to spend more time with them. I'm almost done with the campaign (except for the bonus challnges, 'cus screw those insanely short time limits), so I'll soon be jumping on that freemode to create a great dino park.

Will definitely be an enjoyable game to play when you get to it.

If they don't change what their E3 timing would have been, it'll be June 14th.

No reason whatsoever that they have to stick to it though.

Thanks for the info, Rula. Yeah, I think I might add it to the wish list and look out for a sale in the future. Ta!

Oh, and here's a deal I just noticed - Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has just been reduced to £8.24 ("lowest price ever") in the eShop. IIRC this RPG was highly recommended by our own OrangeRKN.

:toot:

Not just me I'm sure! I just first played it on Switch so a lot later than when people first got excited about it.

Any fantasy rpg fans should play it. Better than Skyrim and The Witcher 3, and to look further than Switch ports, yes, it is better than Elden Ring (and notably very similar!)

Must resist urge to buy another game that’ll probably go unplayed

I do love Skyrim and The Witcher 3 though :shifty:

To give the opposite take: I'm a fantasy RPG fan and I hated what I played of DD, which was maybe the first three hours. Ugly, clunky, poorly-written, with no signs of any atmosphere or inspiration. It's a rare game that's been critically well-received in a genre I enjoy that I could find not a single positive aspect of. I'm led to believe it gets a lot better, but I have no idea how much shite you have to slog through to get there.

My view's in the minority and long may it stay there: it's much more fun to enjoy something than to disparage it, no matter what much of the Internet may think. At £8.24 it's probably worth a look regardless (IF you'll actually play it). Just... it isn't necessarily the impulse buy for fans of the genre that you might think it is, if you miss the sale at any rate.
