Now that I’ve finished Lego Star Wars I’m going to try The Stanley Parable out this afternoon, quite looking forward to seeing what its about as I have no idea!

I had no problems with the d pad on Celeste, in all honesty I've always found the Switch d pad to be pretty decent. I like the distinct buttons approach rather than a wobbly cross or circle sitting over underlying switches

Seems next weeks Nintendo thing will be a third party focused event, I’m pretty sure if that’s the case then we know everything Nintendo have planned to release this year already.

What first party games is there again? Xenoblade next month, Pokémon in November. I’m sure I’m missing a lot but they’re the only names that spring to mind.

Splatoon 3 in September.

Bayo 3 was down for a 2022 release but hasn't been dated.

Advance Wars is still in limbo.

That's it I think.

So we got

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 - July
Splatoon 3 - Sept
Pokémon - Nov

Mario & Rabbids 2, Bayo 3 and Advance Wars all undated but all 2022. Tom Henderson is saying we will get a Mario & Rabbids 2 gameplay reveal next week but unsure if this is related to this 3rd party Direct (in theory it could as its a Ubisoft game)

Mario and Rabbids could easily slip into mid next year for when I purchase it anyway, if it comes out near Christmas I’ll be too busy with Pokémon, if it comes out in spring it could be up against Zelda if that doesn't get delayed again alongside some cracking Xbox games. Not a great year for Nintendo at all really.

It’s Nintendo funded, it’s first party. Much like Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3.

Lots of different ways of defining first/second/third party, and it only says "mainly", so we can't really draw any conclusions

If it’s a Mini, they have often had 1st party games (mostly ports/HD remasters)
If it’s a Mini Partner, they’ll just be focused purely on 3rd party games and I bet the last thing announced will be Persona ports for Switch.

Never mind precise definitions of 'first party': it's an absolute shambles that in the part of the year that's the main window for showing off new games, Nintendo's potentially showing anything that's not a full-fat offering. It's not like the rest of the year's packed with their stuff! (Especially if you exclude Rabbids on the grounds that it comes from filth.) And then there's the small matter of 2023, and the smaller matter of the one game we know is coming then and how we don't even know its name.

I'm amazed people think the joycon d-pad is good for Celeste. The diagonals are really hard to hit when you have a gap between the buttons.

Doesn't impact on the game that much, as it's still great. But there have definitely been deaths where it's sent me horizontally instead of diagnoally, on both the switch and d pad.

Hoping for Goldeneye to appear. Persona and Red Dead 2 are rumoured.

Guess it depends on how big your thumbs are? But then I wouldn't say my hands were anything other average and like I say I've always found it fine

If that's true, must mean Mario & Rabbids 2 is releasing soon :datass:

Maybe an August release? With Strikers in June, XC3 in July and Splatoon 3 in Sept that would be a great run
