I'm definitely very tempted and it's encouraging to see so many people think it's a good purchase thanks again.

What is with this relationship that Microsoft and Nintendo seem to be having - I have seen a few xbox exclusives on Switch. I don't know how this came about and what we can reasonably speculate from it in terms of other exclusives coming to Switch or vice versa

Aye, fair enough. Anxiety can be a bugger like that.

So after a fair amount of deliberation I decided to take the plunge and buy myself a Nintendo Switch. Went into an actual shop and everything (as opposed to purchasing online) - after the initial self doubt and guilt associated with what is really a selfish, unnecessary purchase and worrying about taking on new hobby I'm very excited to get into this.

I decided to go all in and bought a Switch with pro controller with Zelda BotW, Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8, and Let it Go pikachu - none of which I've played before. I got a year pass for Nintendo Online to play Nes and Snes gamesand an eshop voucher to purchase Celeste, Cup Head, Hollow Knight, Ori and the blind forest (and there's a really cool game which you all may not have heard of called Gris that I am very interested to play). I definetly want to get Zelda Links Awakening tomorrow too

I'll let you all know how I get on with my neat little new "Nintendo exclusive, cool indie, Nostalgia, Wii U porting machine" - thank you for everyone that was kind enough to give advice :D

You’re in for a treat with all those games you bought with it and plan to buy in the future.

After all that I really hope you enjoy Barnsy! I think you’ve made a good choice. Let me know how you get on with the Frozen/Pokémon crossover. ;)

Got the update and high resolution car pack downloading for Grid Autosport so I can just crack on with it when I get home from work later, after missing it on the PS3 and Xbox 360 I’m really looking forward to giving it a go, reviews are looking very positive as well currently.

That's going in with both feet

Great selection of games there. Zelda and Mario are two of the greatest of all time. You'll have a blast.

Can someone check my maths on this? I've just bought a couple of those £30 vouchers for £24 from CDkeys. So I redeemed like £90s worth but only spent £72 - So technically if I use that to buy the weird game vouchers, that'd mean I've only spent ~£33 on each voucher, right? :shifty:

Tempted by Dragon Quest XI and Link's Awakening. And potentially stocking up on a few more for when Pokemon rolls around...

Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast launches on Tuesday in the eShop and costs £8.09. Excited for this although all of the screenshots that I've seen have been in third-person view... hopefully - as per the original - a first-person view is available, too.

Correctamundo and you'll get £84 worth of gold points back as well (£4.20?).

Congrats on the purchase, and that's a nice selection of games to get you started!

Make sure you stick around here to discuss your thoughts and findings (as well as all the other nonsense that flies around here).

I'm not sure of the exact maths but if you pre-order Links Awakening with one of those vouchers you get a bit more in gold points as well.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Wasn't it only first person up until you got the lightsaber?

You get double points so around £5 back, same from Luigi's Mansion 3 so almost £19 (£5 double points for each game pre ordered, £4 from getting the game vouchers and the £6 left over from the £90 cheap CDkeys eShop codes) on top of getting the eShop vouchers cheap off CDkeys and getting the 2 game vouchers. Definitely be doing that again myself!
