Bought Virtua Racing, Cuphead, Windjammers and Bastion in the sale today. Also started playing Super Blood Hockey, which is lovely and a little bit Sensible Software.

Of the others, only played Virtua Racing so far. Can't stop thinking about it. The frame rate is silky smooth. Nice twitchy arcade handling. It's a great game for four notes.

I’ve been tempted to pick up a switch for a few months now. Was thinking of just a second hand (as I can get discount on top) older switch or one of the improved battery models.

I quite like the controllers coming off the console for playing when with a Tv. But then I already have a PS4 so was tempted to just pick up a switch lite for my commute and stuff. I think games I’d really want to play on a TV I’d use my PlayStation for.

I’m a bit hesitant as (ages ago now) I picked up the GameCube after my PS2 for Pokemon, Star Wars Rouge Squadron & Twin Snakes. And barely ever used it so much I traded it back in a few months later. And feel the Switch might be something similar. What appeals to be is the handheld portability aspect. I’m not a huge fan of Nintendo first party games (bar Mario Kart). Someone convince me to take the plunge. Please :slol:

Edit I absolutely hated the Wii..

As someone that has recently brought a Switch after being very on the fence about it - I totally advise getting one.I absolutely love it and am having the gaming time of my life with it

I've just downloaded the untitled goose game. I cannot wait to play! I've been watching this game being developed for a while now so it should be a real laugh.

Ludo is gooseberry fool!

I think you could probably enjoy a Switch without any first party games. It's been a while since you could say that about a Nintendo console.

Cancelled my pre-order for Overwatch as the kids are back playing Fortnite again so it's probably a waste of money. Channelled the cash towards Ni No Kuni because I'm weak so that'll be my next game once I finish Link's Awakening and the Goose game.

There's a new Brain Training game coming out on Switch in Japan. At the 3m 11s mark there's a stylus being used to input data. How did I not know the Switch has a touch screen? !!

True story, I've had my switch for a couple of weeks now and it took me 8 days to realise it was touch screen :slol:

Whats the feeling on Transistor? Reviews are generally favourable, but it seems to be a bit of a marmite game. This or Bastion?
Think i will pick up Virtua Racing too, i could do with some arcade action in my life.

I payed Transistor on PS4 a few years back. Don't think I finished it but it was lovely to look at and I remember enjoying it. I do quite like turn-based stuff though.

Pretty sure you won't regret getting VR. Its sheer smoothness has blown me away; it really is a lovely conversion.

Thanks for the info. Will definitely pick up VR tonight. Probably Transistor too given the price.

I've played both. I think Transistor might have been on plus a while back, it didn't really click with me. Bastion though is tremendous and a steal in the current sale.

I played the demo back in the 360 days and thought it was really good.

Nintendo Life has slaughtered the Switch version of FIFA 20 in their review.

FIFA 20 on Switch is a completely pointless release that nobody should buy. More infuriatingly, it sets EA up for the inevitable decision to cancel the series on Switch altogether in the coming years, at which point it’ll blame poor sales on a lack of interest from the Nintendo fanbase: because it’s obviously our fault we weren’t grateful and gullible enough to buy its quarter-hearted effort without having the common sense to notice we were paying nearly the same amount of money as the fully-featured Xbox One and PS4 versions.

FIFA 20 is a cynical attempt from a publisher to completely cease support for the Switch while still having the gall to suggest it deserves to be rewarded with a near-premium fee for its lack of effort.
