Digital Foundry indicated it is an excellent port. Apparently the Zodiac job additions in this remastered version improve the game, too.

Capcom are releasing Devil May Cry on. Not the HD Trilogy or the Ninja Theory one, just the first game.

More great Switch support from Capcom.

I want to play this again. I remember getting to a big city (Arcadia?) then I binned it. Partly due to the combat being a massive step away from what I was used to, and the characters. I don't think the combat will annoy me as much now.

Oh, and good work on FFVII. It still holds up for me. Also love how utterly broken you can make the game with the Materia system.

Those reasons for binning XII sound similar to mine from back in the day - the combat in particular was a turn off. I really didn't get on with the Gambit system but I think a large part of that was a result of it being different and me not being prepared to adapt rather than anything else, I'm trying to be much more open minded now!

The characters were a bit of a worry for me coming back in as well, I never got hugely far before so I couldn't fully judge the game last time but I remember disliking the main protagonist quite a lot. I was surprised in fact that when I first started this up again last night that I quite liked the guy I was playing as, he seemed like a decent sort that I could see myself spending time with and importantly he didn't have a whiny voice actor! Obviously I realised quite soon after that you don't play as him for very long!

Yeah FFVII is still a phenomenal game in my view, some of the flaws stand out more to me now than they did back in '97 but I still believe it is a brilliant game. And you're right about the materia system - it's wonderful but so full of potential for abuse!

Anyone playing Dragon’s Dogma? I picked it up at the weekend. Really really enjoying it.

I never played it before so it’s a nice surprise.

It definitely makes me think that those rumours of The Witcher 3 might be plausible. Mechanically I think the games seem fairly similar. Would just need the graphics to be scaled appropriately.

Celeste is on offer at the moment. At last - I've been waiting for it to hit sale for ages.

It's next on my list. I've heard so many great things about it over the years that a fully portable version for £25 is too good to pass up. Got to beat Skyrim first though!

While I do love Dragon's Dogma in spite of its flaws, at this point another port just does not interest me as much, and now that we're seven years from its initial release, those flaws are harder to overlook. Give us a damn successor, Capcom, where the promise of the original can be built on and what it excelled at can be refined further.

If you've never played though, crack on. There's a bit of an initial curve to deal with, but once it opens up and you get a feel for what it's trying to do, it's super rewarding. Vastly preferred it to Skyrim and Dark Souls.

Buy it off the Russian eshop and you can get the best part of a 5er off the price. Was dead easy to do.

G'day mate! Go Aussie if you want an extra ~50p off the Russian price!

Another reminder for folks that if you are happy to switch region (dead easy to do) then check out savecoins to see which regions offer the best price for each game.

I've probably saved a good £100 over the course of my Switch purchases by shopping around! :toot:
