100% this, I would love a HD Galaxy collection with standard controls on Switch.

You know it’d have Joy-Con wiggle.

As with most control options though, it could be completely optional. Take Skyward Sword for example, on the off chance a remake of that ever happens a standard control scheme would probably be the default option, while they could allow people to use motion controls like in the original version for people who want to play it the same way with the joy cons.

I never had an issue with the Mario Galaxy controls, really enjoyed playing it that way! But it wouldn’t take much work to make it work with a standard controller, just auto collect star pieces? Spin jump allocated to one of the unused buttons.

Was great when it worked, the odd time it didn’t did sour the experience slightly though

The motion controls were great. The rest of the game was, by the franchise's lofty standards, not so great.

Anyway SMG had the manta raycing motion controlled game and was a boon for motion controls from that alone.

Have you met Nintendo? It will be a remake that is motion only because they are obsessed with bloody motion and a little bit mental.

Won’t disagree, they do seem slightly obsessed at times with motion controls

I dunno, I think they’ve hit a pretty happy medium now where motion controls enhance the experience like the aiming in BOTW and Splatoon and most of of the time they offer an alternative anyway. If Arms has been on the Wii for example, that would have only had one control method.

Also:

Galaxy > Galaxy 2 > 64 > 3D World> Odyssey > Sunshine > 3D Land

They’re all brilliant in their own way though.

3D Land and World don't count. They're like a 2D-3D hybrid. Or if you want to say they do count, at least put them at the bottom of the list where they belong.

I would mostly agree with BOTW the wild if the motion shrines didn’t exist.

It enhances with things like arrow aiming and that, but their obsession still shines through with those bloody motion shrines that if playing in handheld mode are an absolute tosses to do as you get the choice between movement or seeing what you are doing.

I think I’d managed to put those shrines out of my mind and forget about them. Yeah, they weren’t great, I’ll give you that.

Of course they count. The style of level, A to B, might be different to the wider exploration nature of some of the others but they are still 3D Mario games. And 3D World is a tighter, more rewarding experience than Odyssey. Probably the most underrated of the 3D Mario games.

Sunshine was a great game and deserves way more love. Some sections were a bit weak and Bowser Jr can strawberry float right off.

Out of the 3D Mario games I've played it's:

Odyssey > Galaxy > 64 > Sunshine

But they're all incredible.

64 would probably still come top if I was just voting on nostalgia and how utterly amazing it felt at the time.
