Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is still my most played at 120+ hours, Octopath Traveler smashed into 2nd place with 100+ hours, and BotW in 3rd at 90+ hours.

I really want to get back into Splatoon (75+ hours), I think that's more my scene than Smash or MK. But the second year for me has seen a lot more third party and indie games, with less of Nintendo's output appealing to me. That will definitely change this year. Year three looks stacked. :datass:

I've made a post on my blog looking at all the games I played over the Switch's last year. So join me as I go Switching to the Second Year and look at all the new experiences I've had.

My top 3 games currently are as follows,

BoTW at 120 hours +
Skyrim at 80 hours +
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 at 65 hours +

Also as I never got around to adding it to the previous thread my friend code is SW-5204-3145-1536 and NNID is also Robbo-92. Not that I actually get online much.

Getting a bonus this month, might use a chunk to join switch squad, thinking Mario, Zelda and Mario Kart as starters if I can find a decent deal. Really want Yoshi Crafted World too, and Toad Treasure Tracker.

There's fantastic games on the Switch Errkal so if you take the plunge there will be plenty of voice for you. Also good choice of games to start.

Yeah it seems like a good time to jump in, at bonus really helps, roll on pay day (15th because work are odd) and I can order one! Assuming I have my calculations right on what the tax will be and I have as much aloft as I expect after paying for a holiday.

Absolutely loved my first two years of owning a Switch, it has proven to be the ideal console for me and due to being able to use it both docked and in handheld mode I find myself playing far more games through to completion on it.

Most played game is Breath of the Wild, although the dungeons/bosses disappointed me I still absolutely loved this, simply because it creates such a brilliant open world. I've just gone back to it to finally play the DLC and I'm loving it once again, just a brilliant world to lose yourself in.

Beyond that I have Pokémon Let's go and Smash Bros as my most played games with Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe slightly behind. I'd say they're my top 5 Switch games too but it's so hard to choose!

One of my favourite aspects of the Switch has been that I've actually found myself buying third party games on a console rather than on a PC for a change. I got both Minecraft and Sonic Mania for Switch because they're both such good fits for handheld gaming, moreso than PC and Overcooked is just brilliantly well suited for local multiplayer on the Switch. Had an absolute blast playing Overcooked with my wife and my mum on Christmas day and can see it having regular outings at family gatherings.

This year I'm most excited about Animal Crossing, Luigi's Mansion 3 and Link's Awakening. The original Animal Crossing and Luigi's Mansion remain two of my favourite Gamecube games and I poured hours into both, hoping I'll do the same with the Switch version. I loved New Leaf on 3DS but Dark Moon didn't really do it for me, hoping Luigi's Mansion 3 is closer in design to the original. As for Link's Awakening, the original was one of my first Game Boy games and my first ever Zelda, I never completed it back then so I can't wait to have another crack at it with the remake and it looks beautiful!

My most played games so far would be;

TLOZ Breath Of The Wild (just under 120 hours)
Super Mario Odyssey (65 hours, rebought with 2nd Switch so got to go through again with DLC)
Mario + Rabbids (50 hours, same as Odyssey rebought to go through again with DLC)
Super Smash Bros Ultimate (25 hours)
Mario Kart 8 (25 hours)
Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu (20 hours)

There's a load of other games but I haven't really given them much playtime. Soz other Switch games

I'm sure I put more in to Splatoon 2 (between 40 and 50 hours if I remember correctly) but due to not owning it this time round it's been knocked off my played list.

My play times:

Breath of the Wild - 165 hours
Celeste - 95 hours (+ about 70 on the PC version)
Super Mario Odyssey - 60 hours
Hollow Knight - 25 hours
Shovel Knight - ~20 hours, I think (dropped off the list and not currently on the system)
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - 15 hours

God, I wish I could play BOTW for the first time again.

BoTW: 75+ hours
Stardew Valley: 65+ hours
Into The Breach: 20+
Dead Cells: 20+
Valkyria Chronicles 4: 15+

I can't believe I've only spent 75 in BoTW, feels like I've been playing that game forever. I also can't believe my farm took 65 hours to set up!

Hadn't played any Mario Odyssey since Christmas 2017 but after showing it off to a friend decided to get back in. I immediately hit the New Donk City finale which almost made me tear up, and have been loving every minute ever since. My usual staple of games tend to be a bit grim (been playing a lot of Metro recently for example) so to return to something so full of joy and optimism was amazing. What a game.

Games wot I worked on:
Night Call: Out now!
Rip Them Off: Out now!
Chinatown Detective Agency: 2021!
EXOGATE Initiative: Early Access Summer 2021

I've been considering getting back into Odyssey. I stopped after reaching the endgame bit, so still have hundreds of moons to go. But I loaded it and it was all a bit overwhelming - so much to go at, and can't remember where I was or how it plays. Might go back to the very start.
