Hmm, that's not a great impression. :( I'd be interested to know whether you think this is worth investigating for someone who has only ever played Pokemon Picross and not played Picross E?

I'm enjoying it on Switch, but I've not really played any before it.

It is very, very, bare-bones. I've not played Pokémon Picross, but don't expect anything in the way of trappings. It's a bunch of Picross puzzles that colour in at the end at that's it. There's a bonus mode called 'Bigcross' or something like that, but it uncovers exactly the same set of pictures as normal Picross so I didn't even bother.

I suppose if you're just craving more plain vanilla Picross it'll probably satisfy you. Me, I skipped to the last puzzle, finished it relatively quickly, deleted it from my Switch, and felt cheated.

Is that the N64 one? I loved Turok on the N64 so I’m tempted to get this just for a bit of nostalgia:)

... . I haven't played a lot of the original Turok on N64. I have a copy but I picked it up only a few years ago. I grabbed Turok 2 at the time of release and I recall that it was atmospheric but tough; the save points were few and far between. Turok 3 was decent - quite a bit darker than the first two titles and it had a fairly spooky vibe.

I'm not sure whether the PC's remastered version of the original game incorporated any changes to make it a tad "friendlier" to play and I'm assuming that the Switch version will be a straight port of that. I'm keen to see how it runs on the Nintendo system.

Edit: Rumours abound that Turok 2 will arrive on Switch, too. Both titles have already appeared for PC and XBO.

I'm way more excited for Turok than I should be, especially given what they're charging for it. It's just going to make me ache for N64 titles though.

We're getting Kid Icarus + Star Tropics while Japan gets Yier Ar Kung Fu, Kid Icarus and Fire Emblem 1.

Not especially liking the trend of us only getting two games now :/ Still I'm keen to give StarTropics another go, game is charming as hell but also devilishly difficult. Gonna use save states liberally for it. Kid Icarus is a rewarding challenge despite a weird difficulty curve, though like Kirby's Adventure last month it is bettered by its 3D Classics version on 3DS

I always thought Turok was horrendous when it came out. The fogging was just laughable and it gave me quite bad motion sickness.

I have fond memories of Turok. It was my first N64 game along with Goldeneye. But it was rock hard, and quite poorly designed if I remember. Lots of walking around in circles. The fog was bad, but I think added a bit to the atmosphere also.

I saw Gods is coming soon too. I remember playing that when I was little on the Amiga. No idea if it was actually good though.

If it’s the same as the pc version you will have the option to remove the fog. Makes it a lot easier to find where to go next!

The fog did serve a purpose of keeping the frame rate up though. Turok 2 pushed the fog out and combined with the other graphical changes it became practically unplayable in my opinion - especially if you tried to play it in the "high res" mode using the expansion pack!

I really enjoyed Turok back in the day, it was one of the games I had when I got my N64 for Christmas '97 (Turok, Extreme G, and Mario 64  ) so I may pick it up for Switch.

It was always a better game on PC though, even back in the day. I think it was one of the first games I played using a 3Dfx graphics card back in the day and I thought it looked incredible! The fog wasn't quite so bad on the original PC release either if I recall right.

I always thought the fog was there to make it a bit scary so dinosaurs could just jump out at you, oh well

3DS JRPG The Alliance Alive is getting an HD remaster for Switch (and PS4/PC). Very exciting, the lack of a physical release was annoying in the UK, and NISA are apparently involved with this, so it seems likely it'll make its way here. I wonder if we'll see this confirmed at that upcoming NISA showcase on the 11th.

Remember popping into Woolworth (Google it) on Turok launch day and seeing it priced up at £70. I’m sure you could probably have got a second hand car with 6 months MOT on it for that sort of cash back then.
