Thanks Robbo - I was aware of assist mode. I’m loving Celeste so far. For someone that entered it a little reluctantly after playing Gris which set such a high bar was this type of game- I totally get what celeste is going for.

I’m not a skilled gamer at all – I enjoy computer games as an art form but I’m not really competitive and just not that good at them but I’ve just finished mirror temple (chapter 5 I think) and haven’t used assist mode at all yet. Normally with a game this difficult I would give up or use an assist mode but this game is challenging not frustrating and makes me want to keep trying. It’s good that there’s games out there that cater for more advanced gamers- but other games cuphead and yooka laylee impossible layer spring to mind for me are just the wrong side of obnoxious with their level of difficulty and are kind of gloating when you fail (also in the case of impossible layer sod going back to the beginning of the level each time you mess up) where as celeste roots for you to succeed and makes me want to keep trying.

I kind of understand the game and have little burst of getting into a nice flow, then struggling. I’m not sure if I will be able to complete Celeste without bumping up my stamina or number of jumps but its certainly made me want to give it a bloody good try.

Has the idea of a pro model completely disappeared now?

Until next winter when the ps5 is out, yes. They won’t want to damage lite sales. I can see a more powerful switch launching with breath of the wild 2. It may not be out until spring 2021, however.

Don't suppose anyone knows a cheap place to get Skyrim on Switch?

After playing the PC version again this past weekend I really fancy picking it up on Switch but cannot find it cheap anywhere. Don't fancy forking £40+ out on a game I've spent a tenner on for the PC.

I disagree. Sure, have different difficulty levels, but something like Assist Mode where the game helps you out? I very much believe in earning things in games and that games are more often than not built to facilitate this, so I feel a mode like this, akin to the Yoshi games' Mellow mode, or recent New Super Mario Bros/'3D' games where after so many deaths they give you a stupidly overpowered power up, just ruins the integrity of the game. I see things like "I just want to see the whole story" etc., and it's like, this is a game, not a movie. If you just wanted to watch the story unfold rather than play the game then just look up a speedrun on Youtube.

I'm aware tho, it does make the game more accessible to those with disabilities etc. which is great, my gripe is more with people who 'feel' like they can't do it and give up rather than those who literally can't lol.

i've still never once seen a shiny pokemon pop up in the wild in any game. one day I might, doubt it though.

I played the demo. I had a lot of fun with it in that short burst, it's very stylish and I like the feeling of motion flying around (the thud when you land!), but it seemed like it might get a bit repetitive. What's the weapon variety like once you start unlocking stuff? And are there harder, puzzle-like enemies, or is it all just keeping your distance and kind of shooting down at them until they die?

It is very repetative but there is a decent slection of weapons available some ways in, also the online multiplayer is pretty great. I got it for only £30 from Smyths and I think thats a decent price for what it is, the retail of £50 is far too much.

Just read this and I'm proud of you. But also Cuphead is awesome, and is YL Impossible Lair really that difficult? Might check it out lol

Big E-shop sale is coming later this week, so hopefully we'll get some good deals.
Mario Odyssey and Zelda BotW are included so that means they'll drop to the price they've been for a boxed copy since launch.

I still don’t understand people buying digital over physical and this is one of the many reasons why
