Why did you put it to sleep just before saving? And not after? Like if you mean a while before, but if you were in a twin next to a save point...?

I put it to sleep quickly to let the stupid cat out. It was asleep for like five minutes, and when I got back it had killed itself.

The classic doom that just released does that. Put it in sleep mode and it locks then game up.

Just to point out Doom 3 is fine in standby/rest mode though, never had a lock up with that.

Yeah the Doom lockup is annoying, the music keeps running but the game doesn't respond to any input.

To be fair it is a fairly authentic replication of the experience my friend had back in the day trying to run it on an old 286 PC.

Ah, that sucks. Hope you didn't lose too much progress.

The revised Nintendo Switch is out in the wild. Woke up late last night with YouTube playing. This guy got one and states his unproven belief that the controllers are made of a slightly different material, connect better and that the Switch itself maintains a higher frame rate.

I watched DreamcastGuy's vid and, whilst fun, I suspect he may be getting a little carried away in the excitement of having the machine :-) . I can't wait to see the Digital Foundry analysis for more concrete facts on any tech changes.

'Carried away' is the right term! He's making his judgement about improved frame rates from sight, which is possible - but I'm not sure how qualified he is. Also, whilst typing I remember watching a video where someone leaked to him that the new PS5 would have an Nvidia graphics card (impossible), then about a day later Cerny revealed it would be using AMD! I knew it was BS when I heard it but from reading his body language I thought there was a strong possibility he made up the rumour.

Does anyone know what the difference between Tiny Metal and Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble is? They seem to have 2 different dev team names, is it the same game but one has more content?

Isn't Full Metal Rumble the sequel? Pretty certain the original Tiny Metal didn't review particularly well but FMR was very well received.

Rex is spot on.

Tiny Metal launched in 2017 - details here

Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble just launched - details here

The sequel reviewed a lot better and is currently on sale at £10.80.

Cheers both, guessing the second one is the only one I need to pick up then. I’ll grab it at some point.
