Didn't FIFA 19 get panned too? Shame, as it would actually be quite fun having a handheld FIFA game just to piss around on, but the reviews seem terrible for it. Even at 20 quid on offer I didn't bite.

On the subject of sport, are there any good racing games on the Switch?

FIFA 20 on Switch is a total waste of time, they should've included the updated kits and UI as a free or £5 dlc for FIFA 19, but what am I talking about it's EA so these little new changes are easily worth £45.

Had a power cut today, whilst playing my Switch dock was certainly a shock, but thankfully the Switch display when back to the screen. If this was the PS4 on the other hand you'd loose your data, have to sit through the error loading screen, then eject your disk.

The Metacritic score for FIFA 20 is even more hilarious

It was expected, really. EA have been talking for years on end about showing Nintendo more support. Not only have we not seen much from them, but even less than the WiiU. Except this time, the money is there for them to easily take, yet they still don't bother. Repeating the WiiU situation but worse would eventually lead to such a panning - especially on a game that shows their lack of effort.

Think i will pick up Virtua Racing too, i could do with some arcade action in my life.

I payed Transistor on PS4 a few years back. Don't think I finished it but it was lovely to look at and I remember enjoying it. I do quite like turn-based stuff though.

Pretty sure you won't regret getting VR. Its sheer smoothness has blown me away; it really is a lovely conversion.

Really enjoying Virtua Racing. There's not much there (true to the original), but it runs so well. Great fun. Shame online is dead.

If you’ve not played it on previous consoles, I’m loving Grid Autosport at the moment, certainly is scratching the racing itch nicely till WRC 8 launches in mid November. No idea if we'll get any more more serious racing games in the near future, who knows if Grid does well Feral/Codemasters might be keen on porting one of the DiRT games or maybe even 2020 iteration of the yearly F1 game.

I'd love a DiRT game on the Switch. I even really liked Colin Mcrae on Android.

In a dream world I'd have a micro machines 2d game on Switch, but alas.

Yeah getting DiRT on the Switch would be great! Probably why I’m hoping the Switch version of WRC 8 ends up being good, it’s reviewed well on the other platforms already so its only the performance I’m waiting to see, chances are I’ll be there day one though

I've never played a WRC game but I'll keep an eye out. I've always really liked rally games, despite never watching the sport.

I’ve never played one either, but I have played DiRT Rally (which is fantastic), reviews seem to say WRC 8 is certainly up there with the former though.

I really enjoyed Ni No Kuni on PS3. I bet its lovely playing a game of that nature and with that whole whimsical feel on the TV / handheld configuration offered by the Switch. The sleep mode alone makes it a whole lot more approachable. I think it took me about 50 hours.

The fantastic 80 Days is out now on Switch:

If people haven't checked it out it's a gem of a game, a fantastic narrative game that I'm still being surprised by after 3 years with it.

Decided to load up the eShop this evening, and got a bit carried away. Had some Nintendo points to contribute, ended up spending £30 on Untitled Goose Game, Abzu and Ori. Especially looking forward to Ori.
