If people haven't checked it out it's a gem of a game, a fantastic narrative game that I'm still being surprised by after 3 years with it.

This game has always looked interesting to me. Is the price hike over iOS justified (additional content etc), and is it a game where you would recommend one platform over another (i have an iPad Pro)?

Thanks.

Alphadream (Developers of the Mario & Luigi RPG’s) have declared bankruptcy in Japan

https://www.nintendoenthusiast.com/2019/10/02/alphadream-developer-of-mario-luigi-files-for-bankruptcy/

Wonder what this means for the future of that series? Maybe now Paper Mario will go back to being an RPG?

Hopefully all those affected will bounce back quickly.

As far as I can see this version is the exact same as the iOS one, but with applied Switch tax. It's not the sort of game that's going to benefit from the Switch's control screen or anything so I'd get it on your iPad.

Acht, that’s a real shame. The M&L games were on a downward trend but I’m still very fond of the first one. Hopefully as you say this won’t be a huge problem for anyone.

Probably for the best. Dream Team was pretty bad, and I hear similar for Paper Jam. Both the remakes seemed to be received well, but why they thought remaking a DS game that was barely a decade old was a good idea is beyond me. It's like, you could probably still very easily buy the original and ofc the 3DS can still play it. But yeah, let's hope Paper Mario returns to its roots before that dies from a similar butchering of the series.

I've given nintendo a fair amount of criticism over the years but having just completed Super Mario Odyssey and playing a slew of indie stuff I honestly cant imagine buying a game on ps4 over the Switch.

It just feels so limited not being able to take the game with you... even if that's to a different room in my house.

Probably for the best that they went bankrupt because their games were bad?

Or, in my case, the same room, but the sofa while your wife watches shite on the TV. :toot:

OR's Goose v Raccoon thread has just reminded me that Donut County was (is?) on sale. Is it worth picking up? :shifty:

It's not a long game, but it's fun and funny. I'd say Katamari is better overall but they play differently enough, more than just a simple half-reversal of the key mechanic. Katamari or Untitled Goose Game are both good touchstones where if you like them, you'll like Donut County.

Has anybody seen any reviews of how Ghostbusters remastered performs on Switch? I missed it the first time round, and am an uber fan of the first 2 films, so just need to know there is nothing fundamentally broken in this release (as occasionally happens with Switch ports).
