WHAT IS NINTENDO SWITCH?
At home, Nintendo Switch rests in the Nintendo Switch Dock that connects the system to the TV and lets you play with family and friends in the comfort of your living room. By simply lifting Nintendo Switch from the dock, the system will instantly transition to portable mode, and the same great gaming experience that was being enjoyed at home now travels with you. The portability of Nintendo Switch is enhanced by its bright high-definition display. It brings the full home gaming system experience with you to the park, on an airplane, in a car, or to a friend’s apartment.

Gaming springs into action by removing detachable Joy-Con controllers from either side of Nintendo Switch. One player can use a Joy-Con controller in each hand; two players can each take one; or multiple Joy-Con can be employed by numerous people for a variety of gameplay options. They can easily click back into place or be slipped into a Joy-Con Grip accessory, mirroring a more traditional controller. Or, if preferred, the gamer can select an optional Nintendo Switch Pro Controller to use instead of the Joy-Con controllers. Furthermore, it is possible for numerous people to bring their Nintendo Switch systems together to enjoy local multiplayer face-to-face competition.

“Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO, Nintendo of America. “It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries.”

Developers can design their games supporting a variety of play styles, which gives gamers the freedom to choose an experience that best suits them.

What are people's most played games so far?

I only have 1 game in the hundreds of hours so far, and that's Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Of all the games that released this second year that I bought, only Starlink and Go Vacation punched their way into my top ten for play time. Go Vacation almost got third in my 2018 top ten, but was beaten out by Dragon Quest Builders.

I'm sure you lot aren't tracking all this on an Excel document, though, so look for any titles highlighted in blue on your profile.

My top five most-played games are:

1) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - 85 hours
2) Rocket League - 70 hours
=3) Letter Quest Remastered - 20 hours
=3) Lego Worlds - 20 hours
=3) The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - 20 hours

The GRcade event nights have been a big factor in the top two positions; I've only played them on Mario Kart Monday and Rocket League Tuesday. They're great fun but I haven't joined for a few months now.

While I've only been in the Mario Kart ones, they certainly are fun. And with Mario Maker 2 coming up, I'm sure that's also going to be a contender for a high play time for many.

Looking forward to Mario Maker, Link's Awakening and Pokemon this year.

Maybe I'll get around to playing Breath of the Wild as well.

I would tell you my top 5 games, but I don't know how to check everything I've played.

but Mario Kart has 90 hours
I know I've played BotW for over 50 hours
Splatoon 2 has 40 hours
Smash has 40 hours.

The game that surprises me the most is OVERCOOKED 2 WITH 45 HOURS

Of the games I can see, I have 105h+ with BotW, 90h+ with Octopath (not worth it really), and 80h+ with Smash. Also 35h+ with Let’s Go and 30h+ with Mario Kart, but I’m fairly sure SMO and perhaps Celeste would have outstripped them. Is there any way to see them all?

Honestly I think you'd have to boot the game up and then it'll be in the list, as it only shows 20 at a time.

Bleah. Can’t be bothered with to get the cards. Celeste isn’t up there though, at only 15h+; Hollow Knight has 25h+. I imagine Sushi Striker and (no imagination required) Xenoblade 2 among my retail games might be high up too.

Yeah, after the perfect way they handled it with the 3DS and almost perfect way of the WiiU, tracking play time on the Switch is just completely awkward. Which is probably why I have an Excel document tracking it all.

I would imagine my highest played game is Xenoblade 2.

It's a complete mystery what my most played game is.

The Switch made me enjoy console gaming for the first time in a decade although I still use it as a handheld 90% of the time.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is my most played game. I've taken a break from it for now but could easily add another few hundred hours to it just to 100% everything and do more grinding.

Think I've racked up about 40 hours on Mario Odyssey, can't remember the last time I spent so long just messing about it a game and exploring.

Zelda BOTW and Mario Kart 8 are my other most played games (along with that Puyo Tetris demo).

My collection is still the same as it was around a year ago - gaming is on the back burner in favour of parental responsibilities at the moment - but I've got something in the works which will see my gaming time pick up again soon.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.
