Wasn't Retro City Rampage reviews fairly poor?

You could say that game was a Retrocity.

Several podcasts did at the time of release I seem to remember (Player One Podcast being one of them).

91% on Metacritic, though to be fair, only 5 reviews.

I wouldn't worry about it, 189 will end up nothing in the grand scheme of things

Glad you're enjoying it! As the difficulty ramps up don't get hung up on collecting all the strawberries on your first go, you can always come back (and in fact it's cool to go back to earlier levels and notice how much you've improved)

Already missed loads of strawberries in chapter 2 anyway!

It is really quite good though, not sure if my skills (or lack of! ) will mean I’ll complete much past the ‘A-sides’ (not found any of the cassette tapes yet) unless the assist mode does help you out a lot.
