Yes, i’m joking.

Cheers boss. You’ll appreciate that it’s sometimes hard to tell on the Internet, so I appreciate the serious answer. :)

The story mode is fun enough, but I maybe wouldn't get it just for that - it's not at all the point IMO. If you can imagine yourself playing around with the mechanics and actually making levels, though...I think it could probably take over your life.

I’m not sure whether i would have the patience to make levels, but it sounds like a good idea. Has it improved significantly since the original on wii u?

Honestly, I'd have to defer on that to someone that played the U version more. I probably played that for half a dozen hours or so - basically the stuff that it came with, plus a few randomly downloaded levels, which all seemed to be designed by sadists and which I got bored of quickly. I don't really have the patience to make my own levels either and so it never really clicked with me. But then, I suspect that's the whole point of the thing, you know, going by the name etc so I can't help but think that's my fault.

What I will say is that the new stuff that's been added does seem to expand exponentially the options people will have to design new levels. Old mario goes left or right, or jumps up on blocks. Just by adding slopes, you can suddenly have totally different levels and ways of traversing the 2-D space. Likewise the stuff from 3D World; you can suddenly climb up and down things which explodes the number of options as to how you can play things. So, I expect huge amounts of new ideas. And it also helps explain why all these different Mario games play so very differently.

I'm liking this so far, more than MM1 - even a thin story mode is an improvement. But as I say, no idea re how the level designing compares. And also not sure how long I'll stick with it, early days yet. Start level designing, though, and I can see this being some people's favourite game of all time

I've upgraded the Micro SD in my Switch, and to keep everything in the same place, I've uninstalled everything - even those games on the console itself - and everything will be going onto the 128GB card. I'll still archive stuff to keep making room, but I now have room for even more permanent stuff to stay on there, so it looks like I'll Go Vacation-ing again real soon.

At least until Mii Resort Paradise becomes an actual thing.

I am two fishing challenges away from completing every challenge in the game. Catching the remaining fish seems to be an exercise in patience of stupidly low chances.

So very close, so very far

I don't think I spent much time with the fishing games, prefering diving instead, but I'll certainly be giving everything another play.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, Shopto have Fire Emblem, Astral Chain and Link's Awakening all up for £40. Might get some pre-orders in

Also, the Fire Emblem boxart :slol: :fp:

Do ShopTo still take the money just before they dispatch pre orders? Not sure if Amazon are taking payment up front or not so ShopTo may get more of my custom going forward.

Thanks, might make a few pre orders and see who’s cheapest nearer release then.

Smyth's might do them a small bit cheaper. But it would likely be click and collect.

Bad North is getting an expansion shortly with lots of new features

Campaign Changes
We've reworked the campaign progression to show the enemy types on levels, advance the Viking Frontier faster and replaced individual gold with a shared gold pool. This is all comes together to allow you to make much more informed strategic decisions between levels and makes tackling multiple islands per turn a more viable approach.

New Upgrades & Meta Progression
There’s 4 more Items to find and we’re also introducing Commander Traits - smaller, passive buffs for your Commanders - so more than ever you will need to work with what you have and each run will be more unique. Over time you can unlock all these Items and Traits as Starting Upgrades, which you can select for your initial 2 commanders when starting a new game.

Difficulty Enhancements
There are some new options for more casual play, such as Checkpoint Islands which give you a reset point, acting as a safety net for when your campaign reaches a tragic conclusion. You can also opt out of the "Iron Man" behaviour of the game by enabling Replayable Levels on a new campaign (no more save scrubbing needed!). And if more casual is not what you're looking for, we've also added an unlockable Very Hard difficulty for those who want the challenge.

And lots more, too...

Features / Changes Summary:
- 4 new items
- Hero Traits
- See the enemy types you will face before playing a level
- Shared gold
- Checkpoints
- Replayable Levels
- Very Hard difficulty
- Choose the look and loadout of your starting commanders
- Unlock Items and Traits for your starting commanders
- Track your unlocks in the new Codex
- Replaced the red shielded vikings with a new enemy type
- Units are more effective at retreating from enemies on command
- Units (including shielded enemies) can be knocked off of ships
- Rebalanced all attacks that launch units
- Delete your old Save Games
-Commander Stats
Plus: Loads of visual / UI tweaks, small gameplay changes

Been holding off on buy8ng this till a sale arrived, hopefully it will go on sale once this patch arrives.

Checkpoint islands and replaying levels if you fail is going to be transformative - and exactly what the game needed!
