Any mention of a price? Knowing Nintendo I expect a full retail price which would be bollocks.

I don't think they've confirmed for the West yet but in Japan it's going to be released at the same price as 12 month sub + Tetris 99 DLC.

Anything more would just be daft.

youre quoting a tweet confirming it for the west

Confirmed the price for the West, ya dingus.

alright, i misunderstood

I’m surprised this wasn’t in the app already!

I tried out the NES app the other day actually, it’s a really cool service. The layout is nice and it has a great selection, they do need to add digital versions of the games manuals though as an extra.

Really hope they do a SNES version sooner rather than later.

I’d rather they let me move the a + b buttons to y + b for better ergonomics tbh.

The Verge report that there a revised Nintendo Switch original is incoming.

the original Nintendo Switch is also getting a new processor and new flash storage chips, according to filings with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The new chips could mean fewer slowdowns, faster load times, longer battery life, less heat... or perhaps none of these things. Nintendo submitted what’s called a “Class II Permission Change” to the FCC, effectively a request to tweak an existing gadget without having to get the whole thing recertified for sale in the United States.

If this is the case I will be happy to finally jump on board the Switch train in September/October.

I'd be surprised if the update results in any significant improvement to performance; The Verge also say:

This is very clearly an update to the original model (right down to the same model number) and Nintendo probably won’t say a thing, because it doesn’t want people to worry whether they’re buying the Switch with the slightly newer processor when they’re picking one up at retail.

With the model number not changing and Doug Bowser also saying that no new hardware beyond the Lite will be released this year, this feels like users will not notice any of the internal updates made.

Edit: Although maybe it will allow you to schedule eShop demos to be automatically downloaded for the next day.

Yeah it’s just a hardware revision, it will probably last a bit longer on battery but won’t do anything of particular not differently.

It’s happens all the time everywhere else but apparently here it’s news worthy, it’s why an issue can occur to a batch of MacBooks say or a series of serial numbers, because the components change slightly over the lifetime of the device as the component markers stop making certain bits.

He's literally spoken to four different people on this page alone. Are you going after the right person? Is it that fisher doesn't reply so you feel you need to direct it somewhere you'll get a reply? I find it rude fisher only seems to direct anything to one person (there are dms if you want a private conversation), but I'm not going to come at shy guy 64 for that, it isn't his fault he's literally just being polite by replying.

I realise I'm guilty of this by replying, but can we please keep this stuff out of the Switch thread? It's not the first time and it's annoying. He doesn't deserve the passive aggressive barbs (it's not only you, apologies if it feels like I'm singling you out), and people come in here for Switch related chat (I do anyway; apologies this post is another addition to that detraction).

Is this the Switch's best ever period for new releases?

Following launch, by July Nintendo had released BOTW, MK8DX, Splatoon 2 and Arms.

Here we have a 3 month period with Mario Maker 2, Fire Emblem, Astral Chain, Link's Awakening, Daemon x Machina and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3. While it perhaps doesn't have something of BOTW's level, that's an impressively varied run of software.

I didn't realise Link's Awakening was so soon.

I'm also in for MUA3, seems like a fun couch co-op game, like a more involved version of the Lego Marvel games. I'm not really interested in the JRPGs though.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

I didn't realise Dragon Quest Builders 2 was already releasing. I thought it was next week. I know what I'm doing tonight, then. If only for an hour. It might put Mario Maker on hold, but I'll try to alternate between them.

I think there’s only the one JRPG in that lot. Depends how heavily DxM leans into that side of things...

Anyway in less than half a year we had SMO, XC2, and Celeste. So no. But it’s looking good, as you’d hope at this stage (see sig).
