My Switch is permanently docked. When I press the power button on the controller, it not only turns the Switch on, it turns my TV on as well.

It's the best thing.

Power button on the controller? What controller do you have Squinty? Or is there a button on the joy cons I've missed?

There is a power button on the pro controller and the joy cons. On the latter i think its the one on the right controller, below the analogue stick. Press and hold and it will turn on the tv and switch hdmi (if you have enabled it in settings).

Your talking about the home button, right?

Sorry, yes. I forgot you could actually turn the Switch "off". In fact i'm not sure i ever have. But Orange is quite right, if you have then the home button will do nothing.

My Switch hasn’t been off (bar restarting for updates) for years, I think.

I really think if they'd offered SNES games instead of NES games, the reaction to the online subscription would have been significantly different.

I have a couple of them, but because I'm a sad loner it's not something I've ever had to check. Let me check tonight for you and I'll let you know.

It's no different to how the Vita works so it should be obvious to everyone right

It looks like you have to have two ‘proper’ controllers I’m afraid, rather than using the left and right joycons.

I thought I'd read that but no, apparently they're planning to add online in an update, but not local!

Looks like they're planning a release of a SNES controller for the Swtich: Nintendo Switch SNES Controller Spotted

Fingers crossed this means that SNES games are on their way as well...

That suits me, as I have no pals. Seems crazy though. Where did you read that?

Splitscreen is unlikely. The multiplayer is based on the original PC version and requires a frankly absurd about of CPU power to draw out the scene due to the more complex maps, we couldn't even get it working properly on the Xbox.
As for why no network multiplayer, we are actually in the process of rewriting netcode so it's only temporary (although there's currently no timeline). The existing netcode we wrote turned out to be quite unstable on wifi at times so I'm rewrite some chunks of its core logic to use delta frames exclusively (thus packetloss resilient as the next frame will contain all the same data) and backporting some improvements that have developed since Forsaken and Blood:FS.

Turok 2 (and a bunch of other games re-released by Night Dive Studios) has been ported to the Kex engine so I think they would need to do significant work to re-implement the local multiplayer stuff.

I don't know if any Kex engine games have got local multiplayer?
