Plot twist: The SNES controller is just an additional option for playing the existing NES games :toot: .

Fingers crossed this means that SNES games are on their way as well...

Maybe, or this will be like the NES controller and be sold only to peeps with online.

It would make sense, a lot of NSO renewals coming up in September.

I'd spend silly money on SNES games. Back when I was into emulation I had about 200 SNES ROMs. The quality of games is amazing. Plus 2D doesn't age like early 3D.

All SNES games on the store would probably mean we would have a portable SNES. Portable Super Punch Out, Portable Super Metroid, Portable Saturday Night Slam Masters, Portable Demon Crest.... I genuinely wouldn't care if they charge £10 a game I'd fill my memory card and be happy.

Wish my image sig would work

It’s Nintendo, I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if they did charge £10 for them.

I wouldn't pay £10 a SNES game , I have a 2DS with a cart in it with ROMs of my whole SNES collection on it , sod paying for them again and again I purchased them on the Wii Nintendo are not getting my cash again and again and again

I'm assuming they will just add a few games a month to the Online service rather than selling them individually?

If they charge for SNES games beyond the sub, I won't be partaking. I've already bought a lot of these games before and paid a fee to upgrade some of the timeless ones on the Wii U. I'm not buying them again.

I'd buy the gooseberry fool out of Super Metroid again no problem.

100% this.

Also this. :shifty:

Seriously I would never stop buying Super Metroid. Easily my favourite game ever and arguably the best game on the SNES. It's unarguably GRcades "Greatest Game By Consensus" though. :toot: :toot: :toot: :toot:

Super Metroid

And yet it didn't even make the top 100 games in the eliminator.

Super Metroid is my favourite Metroid. I won't likely buy it again on Switch if they do charge as I only play on the TV and I have a Snes Mini and PC and Wii U which can all play it on the same TV as the Switch so it'll be a waste of money, for me.

It's not even the best 2D Metroid. Fusion FTW!

To be fair I never owned a SNES so didn't play Super Metroid until years later and that probably had an impact on how much I enjoyed it.

I’ll be getting the online regardless when Pokémon releases in November but having SNES games as part of the package would make it a lot more tempting than the NES games.

I’d say Fusion is my my favourite 2D Metroid as well, like yourself I never owned a SNES so I’ve only played through Super once quite a few years back. Should probably play them both again at some point.....

Super Metroid is way better than Fusion. I get that Fusion has a few quality of life improvements, but that's it, the locations aren't as good, the fact that you get told where to go all the time isn't as good either and apart from when X shows up I don't find the atmosphere or tension as good either. I also came to super Metroid late. I think I played it properly (more than a five minute bash on an emulator) was in when in 2001-ish.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter launches TODAY on Nintendo Switch. It appears to be a redux version, engine switched from UE3 to UE4 so it should run well on Switch.

I agree with this.

Also, people who rate Zero Mission above Fusion are mad.
