Never mind that though: why not ’date’ drunk women to copyright-infringing music on Switch instead?

Can you only play eShop games if you have an internet connection?

Not unless they have an online component. I regularly switch to airplane mode and have had no problems.

No. You can also play the NES and SNES games offline as long as you've played it online in the last 7 days (so it can check you've got an active online account).

Did you purchase it with a secondary account? Or are you trying to play it on a secondary account? That might do it going by how my 2 ps4's behave.

It might have some Xbox Live components in it I guess. I couldn't say for sure though as I've not bought it.

Been playing a lot of the Witcher 3 and I think it looks really good on Switch, yes the frame rate is a bit off at time but it's truly a wonderful experience. Playing the Witcher 3 on a long car journey is brilliant and something I never thought would be possible.

I was playing it while travelling on a train in airplane mode on Friday while going to a hospital appointment so Ori is fine for offline play and I still unlocked achievements fine.

It doesn’t, my entire 12 hour playthrough was offline, in airplane mode.

I'm still going with my "trying to boot up on secondary account when it was purchased with Primary account" hypothesis.

So what do I need to do to ensure I can play offline then as it tries to verify I’m allowed whenever I do?

If my use case is correct, make sure you are on your primary account before booting up. If you only have one account then ignore all I said.

Gamecube Joy Cons for $59.99

Looks good, but you may as well buy a wireless GameCube controller for that price.

Wow, I think that's the first time I have ever helped with anything, like, ever. Glad I was of assistance!

Thought I might have been the only one who’d bought The Witcher 3 on Switch. I’m pleasantly impressed with it as well, for the hardware it looks rather good and performs reasonably well. Definitely no qualms with it being my first experience of The Witcher 3.

Yes, the game is excellent. It’s nothing really to do with Fire Emblem really, you just get characters from the series as your Persona esq buddies.

It’s basically Persona lite.

I liked it but don't think it reaches any of the heights of the best games of its ilk. The puzzles were pretty generic and never felt integrated into the world - more placed on top of it rather than found naturally within. Traversal was pretty standard b-tier uncharted clambering and I recall missing a few jumps through no fault of my own. With the collectibles, I found hunting for them made worse the game's narrative pacing, which was frustrating as the collectibles also added to the narrative.

The mechanics of the game are good rather than anything more, but the way the story is told through those mechanics and the world in general is what makes the game stand out.

I'd rather play another game like Rime than Uncharted (which I only use as an example because you mention it), for me this is a better (very different) game.
