Yep, you'll need to go back to the NES original and catch up on the 15 or so entries.

No you don't, it's a standalone story and the game will teach you the mechanics.

From what I've seen, Nintendo Japan have updated their Direct playlist recently. Whether that means anything is unknown, but I'd certainly like to hope so.

As fun as it is seeing all thse comments around the internet of Direct-starved fans, it's soon going to bring in the masses with their Nintendoomed charade again (of which I've already seen a bit of) unless we get one within the next week.

Apparently it’s the longest we’ve gone between proper Directs since 2016.

On the plus side, every week that goes by, we get one week closer to the next Direct

Every time a Nintendo fan wishes for a Direct, a Pikmin dies.

Which would still probably be below the average Pikmin death rate when you play it.

Pikmin is a dark game when you think about it.

If you want dark, think about the core premise of Pokémon for a while.

Super Mario Bros isn't so happy when you think about all the people of the Mushroom Kingdom Mario smashes to strawberry float with his fist. I wonder if when they turned back there were just body parts, blood and guts all over the place?

I'm playing Yoshi's Crafted World at the minute and I often feel pangs of sadness when Yoshi eats up an unsuspecting Shy Guy who's just minding his own business.

There were even a couple of Shy Guys snoozing peacefully beside each other on one level and Yoshi mercilessly egged them to death.

Glad I have a screen protector on the switch. I don't play undocked, but just now I undocked it to do something quick on Let's Go (grab meltan) and as I couldn't be strawberry floated flailing about with a joy on I just used it in handheld. Well, there's a crack from top to bottom of the screen protector. It's strawberry floating baffled me. It doesn't come out of the dock very often, last time was probably 6 months ago and it now has a.magic crack. It's strawberry floating odd. I would blame the kids, but they don't have my switch as they all have their own.

Really confused. As I say I don't undock it, so it can't have been bumped.

How safely located is the dock itself? Could the whole thing have been bumped whilst docked?

It's on the TV unit. I would honestly expect the TV to break before the switch as it's super thin and fragile.

Could it not just be a dodgy screen protector that warped and cracked?

Nobody else is probably interested but it looks like Railway Empires has been delayed until the end of March. I was all set for something new this weekend so it looks like either Fire Emblem or Dark Souls is getting bought. The review of FE makes it sound like Valkyria Chronicles 2 and I'm all over that if that's the case.

Anyone seen that game on Kickstarter called Kindred Fates? I don't think it's a switch game, but I mentioned it here as it looks like Pokémon, but, it's combat looks kinda sorta more like the Pokémon show in that the monster moves about, attacks, jumps and stuff. It looks like you become the monster in the fight. Looks cool.

Edit: for the $155,000 stretch goal is a Switch release which it's just shy of at over $151,000.
