Have you played Flower, Sun, and Rain? That's the closest other game I've played to Deadly Premonition

I keep meaning to pick that up. Is the DS version acceptable, or is it the PS2 version that draws the (polarized) praise? I do not have access to a PS2 alas.

I've only played the DS version so can't compare, but from what I've read the main difference is the graphical downgrade for DS (which was never an issue for me). The localisation (as somewhere here pointed out recently) was redone for the later US release on DS, so I don't know which is considered "best" (or if the European English is the same as the original PS2 game)

Let's Go had three purchase options for gamers in Japan; the boxed cart version, the download version... and a boxed download version (a case with a download code in it!). All three options share the same price. This approach is to be replicated for the upcoming Yoshi's Crafted World, whilst for Travis Strikes Back only the Japan Nintendo Store will offer a boxed cart version; other stores will have a boxed download version and then the download version will be on offer through the eShop.

It feels like the move away from physical media is rapidly speeding up, even for Nintendo systems.

I find I play physical games much less, both on PS4 and Switch. It's a laziness thing. I like being able to flick through my library on-screen and decide what to play. I have Odyssey, Mario Kart and Mario Rabbids on cartridge and I wish they were all digital.

There's a tactility to physical media that digital can't recreate. There is also a mental commitment. The convenience of easily switching between digital games is also a source of anxiety and indecision over what to play. With physical media you commit to a game to play when you load it in.

It's why I prefer watching DVDs or Blu-rays to Netflix - with Netflix I can easily spend 15 minutes just scrolling through the library. Even if I spend time browsing a physical collection deciding what to watch (or play), that's a more enjoyable experience as I'm navigating a bounded, physical space of my own order and creation.

That's a good point, Orange. I love perusing my physical games and, yeah, scrolling through a digital collection isn't quite the same experience. Even so, the loss of manuals and rise of updates means that the physical experience isn't quite what it used to be. But - and I never would have thought I'd say this a few years back - I think I'm ready for a download-only console now. Pricing and monopolisation fears remain, though.

But, specifically for Switch, I do still love the cases!

I like to have physical everything for my favourite things, my favourite games, movies, albums and books are dotted along a book shelf unit in the living room for all to see and browse.

The only things I bother with digitally are things I don't care too much about like indie games or my Spotify playlist.

It's a stupid decision. It completely kills the pace of it and I'm losing interest in it entirely. It's such a shame.

Switch arrived and set up with a years online which thankfully is dirt cheap at CDKeys for £16. Came with Mario Kart 8 and Mario Odyssey bought along with a dodgy copy Pro controller (looks identical to the Splatoon one I had) and a bunch of blank NFC cards to stick a few Amiibos on. Just need to wait till payday on the 15th so I can get Smash Bros.

Friend code is the same as one on previous Switch which is on the first page of anyone fancies adding me...Plz add me Fisher!
