That looked great! I'm really into the subject material too. I can't help feeling that the title sounds a bit bobbins though: when I saw the title I thought it sounded like some run-and-gun or something, and not my sort of game at all.

Sorry if this has been covered before, but Image and Form (ie Steamworld) are bringing out an RPG this year on Switch. Steamworld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech.

RPGs aren't usually my thing, but I love the Steamworld games so much I'll almost certainly give it a go. It looks quite old-school with the card-based system, but that appeals to me.

Synopsis:

SteamWorld Quest is the roleplaying card game you’ve been waiting for! Lead a party of aspiring heroes through a beautifully hand-drawn world and intense battles using only your wits and a handful of cards. Take on whatever threat comes your way by crafting your own deck choosing from over 100 unique punch-cards!

What awaits you is a luscious treasure chest filled with gold, dragons, vivid worlds, magic, knights in shining armor as well as XP, turn-based battles and all that good RPG stuff! The game’s humorous mix of traditional fantasy and steampunk robots makes for an unforgettable experience with lots of laughs.

That looks great, love the steamworld games so I'll definitely pick that up.

I still need to get Steamworld Heist but I enjoyed the Dig games so I’ll keep an eye out on this next one. Looks like a battle system involving cards like Baten Kaitos

I don’t like strategy games and found the main mining activity of the Digs a bit dull... which I know is going to make me darn popular around here. :shifty: But I’m a big RPG fan and therefore am looking forward to trying Quest!

They're not going to be for everyone,I guess.

I'm considering playing Heist again. I have it on Vita but am tempted to double dip on the Switch and maybe go up a difficulty level or two.

I thought of it more as an exploration game with the mining for materials part just being a side shoot of that.

I didn’t really find the areas to explore that interesting though. Also an exploration game that puts a time limit on you is a bad exploration game.

Dig 2 has improved a lot for me since getting the grapple hook, and the drill makes mining a lot less of a needlessly slow hassle. I still don't like the combat but thankfully there isn't too much of it.

Another big improvement for me has been getting the upgrade so the lantern never drops below 50% - no more running out of light!

Ooh, I didn’t know about that. Didn’t get far enough in. To be fair SWD2 gelled with me better than SWD1 (no procedural generation!), just not well enough to keep me invested. But that does sound like a big improvement.

The soundtrack to Heist is actually on Spotify

With just cause, IMO. One of the best game soundtracks I've ever encountered.

I feel bad for Slay the Spire, that Steamworld game seems more than just inspired by them. I really hope that they manage to get Slay the Spire out on switch first. It will kill their sales otherwise.

They must have been in development at the same time so it's probably just a coincidence that they're similar.

Slay the Spire came out of Early Access on steam yesterday, it got green lit to appear on steam in May 2017, with a lot of its look down then. Like I say the only real shame is if Steamworld beat them to Switch, as Slay the Spire is excellent, and really deserves to do well.

The screen filters on the last 8-bit music levels on Rayman Legends :dread: What were they thinking?

Reached the credits earlier, so I suppose I've managed to finish it. Will see how many of the time trials I can manage now :slol:

My copy of Puyo Puyo Tetris arrived. Got it for £14 which I think is a pretty decent price for a physical version. Was a lot cheaper than what I'd been seeing online anyway.

I like Tetris a lot, which I really got into with Tetris DS. First Puyo game but I think I'm getting a hang of it. There's a good in-game tutorial which helped. Enjoying the story mode at the moment.

This is just my fourth Switch game. Looking to make Wargroove my 5th since I've been hankering for a new Advance Wars.
