Pokemon Quest is releasing today as a free-to-start game on Switch, with mobile versions coming soon. I think I'll give it a go; even though I have never really played a Pokemon title and, to me, it feels like a genre that has been around for so long that's it seems a bit hard to get into now.
The graphics are simple but, to me, pretty cute - I like the wee cubed Pokemon!

I've had a look on the eShop and it seems that your characters proceed on a set path, with you just choosing the fight moves that they make as they approach baddies. There is a raft of weapon-booster add-ons to purchase too; it doesn't feel good and I'm gonna hold off purely because I don't want to fall into that hole of paying to get through the game.

Just watched a vid on YouTube and, yeah, this seems to be a typical mobile game with the key things being to buy tickets and stones to shorten times / improve powers. I'm out!

I use my Switch Pro Controller for the PC version and it's OK. Obviously not as good as having a fightstick, but fine. So I assume it would work well on Switch too.
