Had I not very recently purchased a Switch I would've snapped this up!

After playing a couple of more hours, Undertale has started to grow on me. Happy to admit that it seems like I was wrong with my original assessment :)

I've just arrived at Mettaton's cooking show and his response to Alphys' "Oh no" was great comedy timing.

There's a lot more to it than I originally thought, so it'll be good to see where it goes next.

Since the new Mario Kart is bound to come to Switch sometime [probably 2020], I thought I'd post my completed Future of Mario Kart series here for you all to look at.

Six posts that look at nearly everything that goes into these games. Retro Tracks Next In Line is my suggestions of what the returning tracks for the sixteen returning could be. Refresh of the Grand Prix gives two suggestions of altering the way the main mode of Kart plays out. Refreshing Additions of the Feature Base looks at those extras of Kart games to suggest improvements should they be included in a new game, as well as an idea for a new mode. Characters Come Together for Chaotic Crashes brings the largest roster together, featuring every racer from Double Dash as a starting point and working in some interesting new choices. Crossing Over for Crossovers deals with non-Mario content for characters, vehicles, and tracks - even if it doesn't go in-depth with them. Casting in the Wilds for New Locations is where I bring the series to its end by looking at ideas for new tracks. A full roster of sixteen with the three staples also included.

I'm always in some form of ideas generation, and looking at my labels shows that I have been slowly bringing those ideas out into the world through my blog. It's one of the things I've always been doing - whether large or small. The next major series of that ideas generation will be looking at Animal Crossing - which is confirmed to be coming to Switch so is sort of more relevant.

Ubisoft have that sports game coming soon, but I can't bring myself to buy into it when Go Vacation seems a much better game in comparison. I'd have to look up more on Sports Party, but from what I understand there's six activities based on one island paradise that doesn't seem to have any element beyond the sports themselves aside from the customisation of your avatar.

My nephew's birthday is in a few weeks time and my sister is looking for a good deal. Might send her this way.

If it was based on Sumo Digital's OG Xbox version rather than Online Arcade, that'd be for the best.

As far as Virtua Racing goes, I'm very excited. I remember having the Japanese version on PS2 that got released.

Has anyone tried using a single Nintendo account on two Switches? Apparently you can now game-share in a manner similar to the PS4.

Good read, thanks for sharing. I totally agree about the babies and power-ups taking up space and it would be great to see these replaced with third-party icons like those in smash - especially Sonic, but also Pac-Man... and why not also include a few Pokemon?

Without breaking the mechanics that make mariokart mariokart, I wonder how character-specific power ups could work (like Peach’s cakes, or Yoshi’s eggs)? Perhaps item-boxes could give a low-level chance to get them?

Also they should definitely go with Mario Kart All Stars.

Didn't Super Mario Kart have character specific items... For the AI only?

Double Dash had character only items as well (for some at least, can't recall the full range off the top of my head), so it wouldn't be something they've never done before.

I could definitely see it being called Mario Kart All Stars or similar if they keep bringing characters from other series in (which isn't a bad thing in my opinion).

It’s bad enough having third-party characters in Smash without them making it to Mario Kart...

Mario Kart Double Dash had a few character specific items, though some were just pushed onto them. Mario and Luigi's fireball, Peach and Daisy's heart absorb were some of the specific items, though Toad and Toadette - and Koopa and Paratroopa - just had triple items for what they resemble. If character specific items were to come back, there would need to be a whole lot of them - even if some of them are just redesigns or recolours.

I'm mainly thinking of Nintendo series for the most part rather than getting Snake in there for example. Like past Nintendo characters like Banjo & Kazooie, Captain Falcon (as they don't seem to want to make a new F-Zero game why not put him in Mario Kart, especially considering the track featured in 8/deluxe) and similar characters who would easily fit into Mario Kart.

I thought Toad/Toadette had the golden mushroom as their special?

Just looked it up, and they did. It's been a while since I was last on it. And I'm half-asleep today so I forgot the golden mushroom was around then.

I thought so, makes sense as that was when it was introduced if I remember correctly and what better characters to give it to as a special. Toad and Toadette were my mains once I unlocked them in Double Dash.
