Still feel jammy for getting one for £35 from very.com when they mispriced them.

As a heads up, Hollow Knight is about a fiver on the Mexican eshop so I'll pick it up from there.

If you change your region to buy a game and then change back to UK, do you need to change to that region each time there is an update to download?

I switched off Hollow Knight in a foul mood last night. Went into a dark area that (I suppose) you're meant to explore slowly and carefully, then kept getting killed by spikes on the roof and on walls which a) I've never seen before in the game, and b) were borderline invisible. Then I died repeatedly falling off ledges because the platforming feels incredibly loose coming off the back of Celeste. And on top of that I'm getting horrendous input lag on my Switch which makes me jump either 1/2 a second late, or not at all. Was strawberry floating raging.

It seems like a great game but I got into a right stink last night.

No. I bought Sonic Mania from the Russian eShop and then changed back to UK to actually download it, have never had an issue getting updates downloaded whilst still in the UK region.

By the way, anyone remotely on the fence about this game should pick it up. It's wonderful, I can't put it down

My mum wants to get my dad a Switch for his birthday in July.

Just a bump on this. Any good packages or deals anywhere?

Am I correct in thinking that you can’t use a UK PayPal account on the Mexican eshop? If so, does it mean some sort of virtual debit card is required (I remember entropay, that’s how out of date I am).

I've not seen any deals on the Switch in all the time it's been out, as for bundles doesn't the Nintendo site have one where you can build your own? With how well it's selling I wouldn't expect to find any great deals.

Just had a quick look on the Nintendo site and they have quite a few bundles up varying in price (from £310 to £330 from a very quick glance) or you can build your own for £330, including console, game of choice (some very good games in there as well) and a case (6 options). It's not bad and as I said I haven't seen any great deals out there so far, obviously that might change towards the end of the year with Black Friday and Christmas but that's a bit late for your situation of wanting one for your dad in July.

Yeah it wouldn't let me use my travel credit card or PayPal :( There's probably some convoluted way to get to purchase from the Mexican eshop, but I couldn't be bothered so bought it from the South African one in the end

Do you guys create new accounts for every different eshop that you want to buy from?

I'm a bit unsure about differing accounts / system hacking on consoles. I stick to the standard path 'cos these other routes feel a bit uncertain!

Nope, just login to your Nintendo account on the website and you can change your region to the one you want to buy from - no additional accounts required!

Yep, just go to accounts.nintendo.com go to your profile and change the country. Go to the eshop and it'll ask you to sign in again, and there you are. Once your game's downloaded you can change it back again

Cheers. I figured that might be the case.
From looking around it seems Game might be the best option. Console and Mario Kart 8 for £310.

Spotted this on HotUKDeals, seems like a decent deal as I remember Retro Gamer being a good read. You can get a free 8bitdo controller when subscribing for 6 months for £26.
