This is (one of the reasons) why I love this forum.

This game had passed me by totally for some reason. Looks lovely & charming, though, and I'll definitely be adding it to my list.

You know what, if I was actually decent at pinball games and didn't find the control scheme just a teensy bit fiddly at times, then this would be up there for GOTY. It's charming, the music is great, looks good and the exploration aspects are perfectly handled. And by the looks of it, it doesn't outstay it's welcome (at a guess I'd say 10 hours to complete).

The map is so tiny I can barely make out any areas.......is there something that points you in the right direction or is it purely a case of me searching every nook and cranny until I can progress?

This should see you good, you'll get pointed back in the right direction

I agree with Rex that it's a great game, it is one of my favourites of the year and only overshadowed by the likes of Hollow Knight and Celeste

Shuntaro Furukawa has said he wants more DLC for Nintendo titles. Be interested to know how well Octo Expansion sold, I suspect it was a very profitable venture for Nintendo.

I think Odyssey is going down the sequel route but I think DLC for Smash is a given. Super Mario Party is selling extremely well so I suspect we'll see some content for that in some form.

I'd really like them to do another round of MK8 tracks. They must have at least considered it given the game has sold 10m+ now.

I'd quite like more boards for Mario Party but I don't want to promote the "release the bare minimum so we can charge extra for a better experience" approach. I'm not sure how I'd feel about DLC for it...

To be honest, in the case of Mario Party it really should be following the Splatoon 2/Mario Tennis model of releasing free content after release to keep people engaged as the board count is on the low side.

That is the feeling I get with this iteration of Mario Party. The majority of the console releases have offered 6 main boards. With there being only 4 this time around and the boards looking very sparse, it just looks half-baked to me.

Not to mention no full online mode. It needed more time in development for it to be "full package" but they obviously wanted it out in time for the Christmas season. And it's sold 1.5m copies already so from a business perspective it's going well, it's just a shame it came up lacking in a few key areas for fans of the series, especially when it seems to have done a lot of good work elsewhere.

You can buy something very similar now. It plugs into the headphone jack and allows you to connect any Bluetooth headphones you want. I bought one for my stereo system, cost me under £15 from amazon. Rechargeable using USB and has 20+ hours of run time.

Yeah, standard Nintendo though. Look, we've put the radio into the system but won't let the customer use it for anything useful.

I think the switch must be one of the only gadgets where you have to plug a Bluetooth chip into a Bluetooth enabled device for one of its most typical applications

Mine says it's arriving tomorrow. Classic Amazon. Expecting good things. Never played any of the other games but the demo was great  How big is the actual drum controller?

I think it’s only small, maybe about the size of a Donkey Konga bongo (I’ve not opened it up yet so can’t say for sure)
