I think Unity after a fair bit of patching is a better game than 3.

Yeah Unity after the patches wasn’t bad at all (I actually really liked the story in Unity) however with Unity it really started to show how much of a collect-a-thon the series was becoming, its actually the last Assassins Creed game I’ve completed (tried Syndicate and it didn’t really click with me) as well.

So I turned my Switch on earlier to be greeted with this:

Image

A vertical line of discolouration that had visible scan lines and seemed to have a fixed wave in intensity. Visible everywhere, but much more apparent against a dark background, and it doesn't show up in screenshots or when docked so is definitely a screen issue.

After maybe an hour of playing it faded and seems to have disappeared.

1) What the hell
2) Should I be worried

Hopefully, no.

I think the best and only thing I would like from Let's Go to be put into the main Series is the Pokemon being visible instead of hidden in tall grass.

3 possibilities most likely:

stressed screen to display chip ribbon cable
twisted LCD causing discolouration in one place
Too much current across that part of the LCD matrix for some reason cause by some faulty capacitor

All of them can just go away, if it becomes permanently it might just need re-assembly or one or two SMD components resoldering/replacing, it seems unlikely to result in a total part failure liek screeen, backlight or invertor (all of which aren't that expensive to fix anyway).

As always with these sort of things I bet 90% on a single faulty capacitor on a cheap assembly line because consumer electronics. One and only reason my Macbook Pro is unsuable without extensive software hacks, so it doesn't matter how much you pay. Sometimes the tiniest things have the most obvious compound effects.

Nintendo would probably charge some stupid amount to replace a whole part so get it too a reputable send away fixer because Switch has been out well long enough for plenty of teardowns and third party / oem replacements to be offered successfully.

Of course although these things are meant to be free from interference and producing interference that is basically bollocks and it could be caused by all kinds of things from a microwave to mobile phone to a satellite to aliens and never happen again.

Alternatively get shot of it and re-up with another one lol. Must be said I've only ever broken my own Nintendo devices but Switch does not seem to have had quite the same luck.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

This happened with some of the Johnny Turbo releases as well (Night Slashers I think) and they’ve not come back up since :?

Apparently needed reclassification in other parts of Europe and Russia so they took it down temporarily across the whole region until that is done.

Hit me up when Diablo 3 is sub-£20.

Ironically Hell would probably have frozen over by then.

Shame Tesco don't deliver. I'd have grabbed Pokken, I guess if it's gooseberry fool £10 isn't too bad.

I’m going to check Tesco tomorrow to see if I can grab Skyrim!

Anyone picking anything up in the current sale? I’m going to pick up Towerfall, Nidhogg 2 and Windjammers me thinks.

Nah, I've got such a massive backlog I'm trying not to buy many games until I've started clearing it. Even if you save say 30% it's still a waste of cash when you aren't going to play it, and usually by the time I do it's cheaper again in another sale.

I’m trying to keep my current backlog to an absolute minimum with the Switch, obviously some games like Fifa (18) you can’t really complete but I’m at least trying to see the end credits in as many of the games as I can before calling it a day on them, or if I’m really not enjoying it then I won’t carry on playing them for the sake of it.

I’ve finally bought Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as well now so that’ll be seeing a bit of time once I’ve finished the Champions Ballad in BoTW and beaten the game again, I reckon I’ll probably be done with BoTW for the time being once I’ve finished it again, might load it up and do a quick run through though if I ever find myself with nothing to play.

I’ll probably try and delve a little more into Hollow Knight as well before caving and buying something new off of the eShop (probably next up is going to be Celeste unless something else grabs my attention first) as Yoshi doesn’t seem to be doing anything new sadly from Wooly World (the new Yoshi does look just as lovely as Wooly World does though!). Nintendo’s first party/ exclusive games coming out in the next few months (well the ones I presume will, FE Three Houses, Daemon X Machina) don’t really interest me much either, just Marvel Ultimate Alliance (which again, has no release date or even window).
