RUMOUR TIME EVERYONE!!!!

King Zell (Known insider on Era) has dropped a hint that a Nintendo Direct could be coming next week (Wednesday/Thursday) but that's not all, he has also said "There are a bunch of announcements coming this year but am not sure when." he then went on to list

Pikmin 3, Maker 2, Boxboy, and of course the 2D Zelda and Pokémon

He has also said the Metroid Prime Trilogy HD should be shown soon, probably in the next Direct.

I know they’re working through the Wii U back catalogue slowly but surely, but a Pikmin 3 port would be bizarre to me (and also inferior thanks to the lack of the optimum gamepad/Wii remote control scheme). I feel like I’ve been waiting or them to announce Pikmin 4 forever:

I hated Neogaf whenever there was a sniff of a direct. Resetera is probably the same.

Plus all the games they shat on, before they even played them, that happened to be really strawberry floating good. A Link Between Worlds, 3D World, strawberry floating Tropical Freeze.

I really hope that Gen 8 is similar to Let's Go and that we get Let's Go, Johto next year. Let's Go, Pikachu and the mobile game have really revived my passion for Pokémon

Yeah I find it’s fun to go on there and have a chuckle when browsing some of the threads. Thankfully I rarely go on Resetera, only when a ‘leak’ has been made so I can see how desperate the posts become.

I’m really hoping we get a Let’s Go Johto game next year as well, loved LG Pikachu/Eevee.

Saying that while I hope they incorporate some elements of the Let’s Go series (Pokémon appearing in the overworld, optional catching mechanics similar to Let’s Go, having Pokémon follow the player) into the gen 8 games I hope it’ll be mainly like the previous games, again not that the Let’s Go games we’re bad at all!

One area I’m really interested in is which graphical direction they opt for, will it be similar to Let’s Go? Or does the game ‘Town’ potentially show us more of what the gen 8 games could look like?

Although my main excitement is for the new Animal Crossing, I think Mario Maker 2 would be my second most-desired title for Switch. It would be so cool to see more folk taking part in Cheeky Devlin's Are You A Master Mario Maker? events .

Only thing I want from Let's Go is Pokémon in the overworked and Pokémon following (which has been in previous games, TBF) While I enjoyed Let's Go, it really was a babies first Pokemon

Yeah it was definitely on the easier side (except Mewtwo, who I went in wholly unprepared for as it turned out when it one shotted my entire team, Mega Gyarados to the rescue), I quite liked th catching mechanics as well which is why if they do feature, they should be optional.

Catching mechanics were fine apart from the shitty capture rates. I hope they still do away with wild Pokemon battles in the new games.
