If nobody else posts in this thread for several days, could we get them done for multiposting?

Anybody know if there is a particular trick to getting the Switch to connect via ethernet? Either I'm doing something wrong of the Switch is not compatible with my adapter - in which case is there a recommended one that I can pick up? I see there is an official one but that comes with the Official Nintendo Seal of Overpricing!

I just use a regular one from Maplin, so I don't think you specifically need an official one. I don't remember any particular problems or tricks when I plugged it in. I sometimes have to run the connection test if I unplug it from the dock to make it recognise it again. Don't know if that helps.?

I've tried the connection test with no joy sadly. I suspect I just have an adapter that doesn't play nicely with the Switch - I get no link light when it's connected so I think it simply doesn't recognise the connection.

It was a cheap adapter I bought years back so my Chromecast could use a wired connection as the WiFi reception on that was terrible, but I was hoping it would work on the Switch as well since the TV is now in a bit of a WiFi blackspot in our new setup.

I’ve got the HDE one which works fine, but I think that might be one of the overly expensive ones you’re referring to. I know that you’re not the only person on the web to have complained that their LAN adapter doesn’t work with the Switch: think it needs to be a Nintendo-‘permitted’ one.

Sucks to hear that your current adapter doesn't seem to be working, Jenuall!

If you need a cheap alternative to the official one, I bought the cheapest Amazon Basic USB 3.0 adapter and it worked fine -

Thanks for the input folks, it's frustrating that the Switch seems to be a bit picky about what it will talk to but there you go.

Having looked back over my Amazon order history it looks like I bought another adapter a while back (which probably didn't work with the Chromecast!) so I'm going to try and find that one and give it a try, and if that doesn't work I'll grab that Amazon one cheers Heskimo!

That's the one I had with my previous Switch which worked fine, did buy one before that which was like yours and wouldn't work.

I try not to get too mixed in with rumours but the ones that have been circulating for this supposed upcoming direct have me a bit excited.

Yeah I suspect it’ll get announced tomorrow if it is indeed on Wednesday, or they could just drop it on YouTube. Still wouldn’t surprise me if these latest rumours are a load of rubbish again though.

Did find the Origins levels noticeably more challenging than the regular Legends stages, the distance between checkpoints was certainly greater.

Still even with some frustrations Legends was a joy to 100%, if it ever goes super cheap on the eshop I'll probably triple dip after Wii U and PC

Go Vacation is a blast, I particularly love roller skating around the open world.
Always shrugged it off as a Wii Sports rip-off but it's a much better game that that.

City resort is my least favourite, I'm all about snow and mountain. Can't beat skiing!

Granted roller skating is better when you play on TV so the motion controls for tricks are way easier to perform.
