Forget skiing down the mountain. It's about tubing it down the mountain with very little control.

Bought A Hole New World last night as it was on sale at less than £2, seems decent so far so I don't think I'll be complaining for that money.

Also got Quarantine Circular, been meaning to play it following Subsurface Circular and it had 20% off

I downloaded Iron Crypticle this evening; I was drawn to it by the Robotron / Gauntlet vibe. It's a twin-stick shooter, slightly old-school and slow-paced but a lot of fun. I think the levels are randomly generated. It's a game style that I haven't played for years and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in.

If anyone is interested in finding out more about the game, it was reviewed by Nintendo Life earlier today.

I just sawed on my phone's news feed thingy that dataminers have found that all SNES String gooseberry fool has been removed completely from the Switch NES thingy after latest update. Looks like No SNES for us.

Though some people think Nintendo put it there just to maybe store until it was ready for its own Snes app.

So, after last nights Direct we have a better idea of what 2019 is looking like

June: Super Mario Maker 2
July: Fire Emblem
August: Astral Chain

If I then had to guess where the rest would slot in

September: Link’s Awakening
October: Luigi’s Mansion 3
November: Pokemon

With Animal Crossing, I could see a Direct coming in March focused on AC and then getting a release window of May. I just can’t see Nintendo leaving a big gap between Yoshi and Mario Maker, they must have something to slot in then

That was meant to be Fire Emblem though...

I'd put money on it being:

September : Animal Crossing
October: Luigi's Mansion 3
November: Pokemon

With Pokemon being late November early December.

That was a good direct last night. I wonder what’s happening with Metroid Trilogy though. Is it maybe just not happening?

So many rumours about it as well, but I wonder how much of them are just nonsense?

+ December: Link's Awakening

That's what I'm thinking.

The suggestion now is Nintendo have it completed and are sitting on it. They do this a lot with ports-NSMBU was completed at least 6 months earlier and I believe they did similar with Twilight Princess, so it might be true.

However, if that is the case, why is it not getting a Q1 or Q2 release? From June onwards, they’re schedule is looking very strong, but the first half is a little patchy in terms of first party. Prime Trilogy HD would fit well into April or May.

Bit underwhelmed by the Direct announcements if I'm honest, nothing really tickles my fancy.

Best Direct they've done in a while. Shame you couldn't find anything you liked.

Definite purchases:

Super Mario Maker 2
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3
Fire Emblem Three Houses
Deltarune
Astral Chain
Link's Awakening
Tetris 99

Will give the Daemon X Machina demo a go and see what that's like (it's up now.) If Persona 5 doesn't come out on Switch then I'll probably get Dragon Quest XI if it doesn't release too close to Pokemon.

Definite purchases for me:

Dragon Quest XI
Final Fantasy IX
Bloodstained (I’m a backer so I get this anyway)
Astral Chain
Link’s Awakening

Crafty Yoshi (so crafty he didn’t pay his tax return amirite) is the next rung below, i.e. almost certain purchase so long as they don’t stuff it up. And Hollow Knight Silksong, natch (not in the Direct). There are also a whole lot of maybes of varying strengths.

Disappointed Final Fantasy IX is so expensive, but I'll probably pick it up in a sale. Is it just a port of the PC version so it's "HD"?

Has there actually been any evidence leaked that points towards a Metroid HD collection? To me it just seems like wishful thinking and rumours stirred up by fans. Don't get me wrong, I want it and it seems like a no-brainer of a move given the delay to mp4
