Personally I found it refreshing to have a Scottish accent in a game that wasn’t a horrifically exaggerated Glaswegians accent

DON’T FORGET ME!

THINK YOU CAN TAKE ME!?

YER DUN!

The accents were divisive but I bloody loved the voice acting. Gave the game so much character

Yep 100% agreed! It wasn't perfect but I'll take it over generic Nolan North/Troy Baker/Jennifer Hale stuff that practically every other game goes for

Thirding this. The reason I go on about Nia so much is 90% her voice acting.

Now, if only they’d got the volume balance right on the music and voice in the cut-scenes... :shifty:

Yeah, the industry really needs to move on from those guys. Ridiculous how much they're used.

It really is! I don't think there's another game in existence where you could take one of its music tracks, combine it with the meme-tastic dialog of an enemy and still end up with something that is a full on banger! :datass:

I still need to actually play Octopath, the demo didn't really grab me and that hunter characters dialog made me want to kill myself!

I wouldn’t say you do particularly. If you want to play a good-looking turn-based JRPG with variable voice-acting and dull dungeons, play Bravely Default II. The job system and battling are better, and you don’t have to beat a grindy superboss to get a satisfying ending.

Fair enough, I'll take that on board and update my backlog accordingly. Based on current size and rate of progress I will get to it in about 18 years!

just don’t trust the game when it tells you it’s over

I’ve bounced off Octopath a couple of times and just can’t bring myself to try it for a third time.

That video though, classic already

Help a fellow forumite out - which Borderlands bundle is the best one to get? They're all on sale at the moment, but I don't know which one to go for:

- Borderlands: The Handsome Collection
- Borderlands Legendary Collection
- Borderlands: GOTY Edition

Edit: on closer inspection it seems that the Legendary Collection is the best-featured, not bad for £16

Buy a new one.

Infact get 2 so you have a ready replacement when the new one starts to drift

Try wd40 contact spray or something like that, lift the stick one way spray and then the other and spray, I also run a cotton bud around the area to get rid of stray crud. I have been doing this sort of stuff for ages, in my experience it works again for a bit then goes funny again so you do it again rinse and repeat. If you fancy it you can always buy bits and have a go at swapping the stick out but it looks more fiddly than id like I will try if cleaning ever stops helping though.

I’ve got at least 3 two in one games and I’ve only played one in each of them until this evening.

Mind you I’m deliberately not playing FFX2

Do the new ones still have this problem?

I've had left joycon drift for a while now, mainly mitigating it by using the Pro controller when docked, and playing indie stuff in handheld with the d-pad.

But now my right joycon has a faulty SR button meaning it can't be connected horizontally for four player.

I could send them off for repair but it'll probably cost close to a new pair. But they are pretty expensive so it would be annoying if the same fault develops eventually.

The build quality on the Switch is pretty bad, all in all, and it's somewhere where Nintendo have started to cut corners, given that they once made a Gameboy they survived an explosion.
