Beat Mario 3D World with every star, flag pole and stamp (except for the ones you get for beating every level with every character because F that noise).
I was on a semi packed silent train carriage. Some nice American tourists came on and were talking loudly - I could see they were getting some looks and they seemed unaware it was a silent carriage and I said in a very polite way 'hi guys, I personally don't care but just so you know this is silent carriage' (genuinely didn't want to be a dick, which is exactly what a dick would say, I don't care about noise and I wasn't confrontation- but they were unaware and I would want to be told if it was me and they thanked me. If they chose to not quiet down I wouldn't have said anything again). I put my headphones on and about 1 minute after this exchange I accidentally screamed a loud 'YEEEESSSSSSS' as a pure expulsion of joy for beating Chapions Road after like the 30th attempt
Great game I think I actually like it a little more than Odyssey (one of the best games of all time). Its Mario distilled to his purest essence and the most fun I've ever had with a Mario game. The pre-credit levels are a little bit too easy, but is probably the right difficulty for a four player casual game. Proper ode to platforming, full of ideas and interesting game mechanics and never lingers on one idea long enough for you to get bored. I like Mario with single overarching themes and give you a sense of place- this game doesn't have one but for a game that doesn't push the system or even the previous generation Wii U - it does look beautiful - I really like the overworld maps (especially World Bowser). The cat-suit is a great power-up too; way more interesting than the usual power-ups which often seemed to be some variation of hovering / flying. The more challenging post-credit levels that require tighter and more precision play are where the game really comes into its own. FWIW found champions road way more challenging than the final level in Odyssey. I really loved this game
