Just ordered a Switch Lite.

Was quite content without a Switch for years, but decided I'd get any 'Pro' revision. Now after a month or so of using my 3DS to try and complete a living dex on Pokemon in preperation, the waiting has just got too much for me :slol: It's very unlike me to spend so frivolously (I still plan on getting any Switch Pro) but sod it. My spending on most things has gone right down during the pandemic so I feel like I can spend a bit more on games and not feel guilty.

I already have Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Pokemon Sword, and will probably look at grabbing a digital copy of Animal Crossing.

They also seem to have too many projects on the go at once, been a topsy turvy past couple of years for them

Have you managed to get a living dex up to gen 7 then? Barring the 11 mythical Pokémon I’m just 4 short now!

Did you manage to grab one in the prime day sale? Or just gone for it regardless of price? Both Pokémon games on the Switch have been very good, obviously quite different in how they play but I loved playing through each of them (Sword/Shield numerous times). Jumping in now at least means you have loads of games to enjoy as and when you want too.

Just the 'regular' price. I bought some lightning cables last week and they gave me £10 credit for using a small business, so ended up £169.99. And yeah, it's really the amount of Pokemon games that made me pull the trigger. Let's Go, Sword and Shield, plus BDSP and Legends: Arceus not far off. I've never played a Pokemon game during it's launch period before, so always missed out on the event/gift stuff. Looks like the Gen 4 remakes will be the first ones!

I'm sort of done with the pre-gen 8 living dex, although like you I'm missing all mythicals other than Deoxys and Celebi. I have some things to breed and level up that are not in the Gen 7 dex, but everything is caught and ready, I was just doing a quick as possible run through Pokemon Sun (Ultra Moon was my 'main' gen 7 game), to get the missing ultra beasts and Solgaleo. That will let me get the shiny charm in Ultra Moon. I'm not going to keep breeding for shinies, but doesn't hurt to increase the odds if I'll be doing a fair bit of breeding and hatching anyway.

If you're still missing stuff, I'll definitely be able to get them for you now.

Well I’m not sure if you’re planning on playing it through a couple of times (I mean you’ll probably want to if you want a living dex without worrying about trading too much for legendary Pokémon, you can start another game on a second profile so you can go the opposite ways for the legendary where you have to choose). Only one you might struggle to get is a Zarude as they only distributed that via a code earlier this year, if you have plenty of spare legendary Pokémon you might not have much issue with this either though.

As for what I need it’s just three now! (As I’m just going to cross my fingers and hope they do another distribution of mythical Pokémon so I can have my own!), I’m needing Honchkrow, Yanmega and Gliscor which are obviously not in gen 8 games in any way (shame as Gliscor is great). Thankfully Dragapult has been my go to for trading to tick a lot of the ones I was missing off and in the dlc for gen 8 they’re relatively easy to come by.

Edit, all done for a living dex barring the mythical Pokémon. Just need the Pokémon company and Game Freak to do a distribution of some sorts now!

On Nintendo's for Skyward Sword HD, it mentions

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD takes the classic quest and optimises it for Nintendo Switch, improving the experience in a number of ways including:

Enhanced performance
Improved motion controls with the Joy-Con controllers
All-new button controls, allowing you to choose your style of play
Various quality-of-life enhancements, including refinements to player tutorials and general guidance throughout the adventure

I wonder when they will details these QoL improvements?

So long as this actually means fewer tutorials and less guidance from Fi etc ( :fp: if it's more!) then this is actually exciting news to me! I was worried they'd leave it all too faithfully intact. Glad there's some nip/tucking.

If there's a Fi option that you can set between original, less, and None, that'd be a god send and might convince me to get it

I wonder if Nintendo are looking to this team to handle more Nintendo remakes?
