Yes - people think some of the lack of success is due to them mishandling or half-arsed attempts - rather than the franchises being inherently of lesser quality.

And Fire Emblem favouritism is disproportionate to its success arguably

I think it's more a joke on us F-Zero and Wave Race fans.

Are they similar to Hades? I'm probably going to get that in the second half of the year, but don't want to burn out on the genre or the developer if they are.

I picked up both of them last time they were cheap, not played Transistor yet but Bastion is good fun. It's an action game rather than a roguelite but it keeps the same isometric style as Hades. Combat isn't quite as polished as Hades but it's got a good story and some great art direction, definitely worth it if it's only a couple of quid.

Yeah I remember really enjoying Bastion back in the day, it's not exceptional or anything but it's a really nicely put together isometric action game

I think the joke is more because Nintendo never released Mother 3 in the West.

I've seen plenty of variations of that clip with other brands, but that punchline has never hit harder than with Mother :slol:

I don't think a year-old game can be reasonably called a cult-classic

Isn't that just shorthand for 'not many people like it' ?
