Only just now realized that even though this has only been released in the US at the moment, that's not much of a hindrance to a system lacking region locking.
So do I just change my country of residence in my Nintendo account to the US, or is there more to it?

Ah, right. I'm actually playing on Steam, I thought it was out on Switch here already.

Yeah, you'd have to swap your shop region in your account settings on the Nintendo website. You'd also either need US eShop points, or a fancy credit card with no foreign exchange fees or however that works.

I've not tried this, but I have also heard that any remaining US eshop credit is lost when you change your region back, so don't get burnt and just add what you need!

I’ve played about 13 hours over 2 days each level has 4 completion objectives [if you wish] and the speed runs with online leaderboards are addictive.

I'm jumping between Kaze and Crash Bandicoot 4 at the moment - both great

Kaze is an amazing 90s style, Donkey Kong inspired platformer - anyone else played it yet?

I've heard the second Yooka Laylee game described like this - is this better, worse of different to that? I played a little bit of YL but it didn't quite grab me.

I'm possibly the wrong person to advise as I really enjoyed Yooka Laylee 2 (I love platformers in general), but personally I think Kaze is a closer homage to Donkey Kong, particularly the Snes games, at least in terms of level design and gameplay mechanics. Bascially the masks play like when you unlock the animals in DK - it has stuff like when you had to hold onto the bee and manoeuvre around vines. Kaze controlls exactly like Dixie - with the spinny attack, gliding and throwing objects with her hair etc and the game also has its equivalents of all the DK stapples like barrell blasting, rope swinging, mine carting, collecting of the four letter word beginning with K - 'kaze'

Personally as much as I enjoyed Yooka Laylee 2, I would say Kaze is better if you want a DK simulator. Yooka is maybe better value for money. Yooka looked great and went its own direction away from DK.

Kaze has better, tighter, polished, platforming and is game of the year material for me (but I say that about a lot of games :shifty: ) - so I'd defo recommend

Thanks for this.... I will check it out when I have some time - YL2 is on offer in the eshop and I can't decide whether to get it again (I have it on disc for PS4 but would sell it on)

Been having the itch for 2D Zelda-likes recently. Had a friend recommend me Hob and Crosscode, both of which I already had an interest in playing but never got around to yet. Has anyone here played these? I know I've heard nothing but great things about Crosscode, but Hob seems a little less talked about. I tried the demo and instantly fell in love with it tho.

Crosscode's next on my wishlist, but it seems to go on sale fairly regularly so I thought I'd wait for the next one.

Florence is among the artsier games that are on sale today. I bought it for a bit over £2, finished it in half an hour, and felt like I should have been more moved by the entire experience than I was. Back to Tales of Vesperia it is then!

I haven't played it yet but Hob is on wish list and looks great - didn't know it was a Zelda clone though? Looks like it has its own gameplay mechanics and puzzles?

If you're after top-down Zeldas - have you considered Little Dew. Also not a 2D game - Ocean Horn (Wind Waker Lite) is great

Had a scare this morning dropped my Switch onto a hard-wood floor* screen-side down. Picking it up and facing it towards me was as tense as snipping wires on a bomb. Luckily there was no damage - Nintendo hardware :toot: . Joycon-drift is forgiven :D

Blossom Tales is a nice 2D Zelda-like for anyone who hasn't played it. Not too long or challenging but it's a really nicely done game

Same, I didn't know either of those were 2D Zelda-likes? I'm more interested now!

There seems to be a bit of talk (I'm not even sure you could call it rumours - more wishful thinking) that Nintendo and Microsoft are working on something together, maybe Microsoft Gamepass on Switch.

Is there really any chance that Game Pass could come to Switch? I would be all over if it did - but in my naivety I don't see;

1. What is in it for Microsoft? This gen I'm going to get a PS5 (when they're regularly available enough I can pick one up and buying one at any price feels like some sort of lottery and I don't have to worry about bots emptying my online trolley) - but was thinking about getting the Series S - for gamepass. Would Gamepass on Switch not affect x box hardware?
2. How a lot of x box games could run on the Switch?
3. How a Netflix style gaming subscription wouldn't hurt eshop sales? Perhaps people wouldn't be willing to pay for 1 indie eshop game when they can have availability for of multiple games for less money.

I would love it to be true - but it just seems a bit too consumer-friendly.....

I can see X-Cloud coming to Switch. But how would GamePass even work natively?

The other things would be stuff like Master Chief in Smash, which would be a great addition, maybe Rare Replay? But beyond that nothing else would be likely to happen.

I'm going to get a Series X when I can afford one, but if I could stream to my Switch via X-Cloud then that would be amazing!

I cannot see game pass on switch unless its a restricted version, so we wouldn’t get certain games that are already on the switch.

It would be a surprise, but you never know I guess with the way microsoft are chucking money around.
