Decided to go for it and signed up to the expansion pass just now, will 100% be playing a bit of Banjo later, will be so nice to play it on a Nintendo console again  Also Jawa’s favourite game of all time, The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time :toot:

Edit, tried a couple of games on the Sega one but I’ve not really got any emotional attachment to any of those games so that’s unlikely to see much play time at all unless they add the X-Men game to it which I played a fair bit of as a kid. The N64 one seems pretty good from the very short time I’ve spent with it though! Couple of cups in Mario Kart and then started Banjo, might start Zelda later! One question though, if I got an N64 pad, are the controls as you remember them? Feels odd playing them on the Switch’s setup where you have to press ZR to access all of the Z buttons, how does this work with the Ocarina in OoT? I’d be tempted by a pad if the controls were than back to normal, I’ve got stock reminders set up on the Nintendo store.

Nintendo Switch OLED is currently just under £300 on Amazon

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B098TVDYZ3?_encoding=UTF8&th=1&linkCode=sl1&tag=eurgam-m-21&linkId=eef16503f37aacbe00fdfecd19570931&language=en_GB&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

If you play a majority in handheld mode and still rock the OG/Lite I highly recommend upgrading if you can.

Would be tempted if I didn't have Steam Deck on order.

I’m still on the same position I was beforehand, if my current OG Switch breaks then I’ll upgrade to an OLED, if it doesn’t break I’ll just upgrade when the Switch 2 comes out. I imagine the OLED screen is one of those things you don’t miss till you’ve seen it for yourself, to me my current Switch’s screen looks fine.

I’ve played the first area of Banjo (so just unlocked the first proper world) and it still feels like Banjo to me, which is a good thing obviously! The only thing I wish they’d taken from the Xbox version was being able to keep your notes, its fine as it is of course but the odd world it was annoying if you died when you were close to the 100 notes! I’ve made a start on OoT as well, from the 3 games I’ve tried on the N64 app, they all look quite nice really! My next one to play will probably be Paper Mario but I think I’ll make some headway with the ones I’ve started, although MK64 will probably be one I dip in and out of.

Noticed on my 8BitDo SN30 Pro+ that it was rumbling all the time when I first loaded up Zelda with it so I’ve turned the rumble off, it’d have got annoying quickly otherwise.

Sounds like your expectations weren't high enough for the all-time great that is banjo :capnscotty:

Good luck! I gave up on 200CC, I just got fed up of being pipped at the final hurdle.

I've not really been following the N64 stuff on Switch after dismissing it out of hand when it was launched. I assume the games aren't enhanced in any way and they are pretty much 1:1 representations?

Banjo definitely looks better, not quite as good as the Xbox version but a lot better than the N64 version.

Not watched any comparisons but I’m quite impressed with how OoT is emulated on the Switch, obviously releasing the 3DS version would have been better but so far I’ve had no issues, as I mentioned earlier the only small issues is the button mapping, currently on my way to get Sun’s Song in Kakariko. Reckon I’ll leave it before heading up Death Mountain though! Need to play other stuff before Pokémon comes out

Enjoy zooming around corners and falling off the track. Acceleration and brake drifting are your friends.

Break drifting was the turning point for me in 200cc, I didn't know it was a thing until people on here mentioned it.

Oh yeah totally, brake drifting is pretty essential for 200cc, especially on the tracks with a plethora of twists and tight corners.

I keep accidentally break drifting in the wrong places  I'll get the hang of it soon enough I think! First 3 stars already won!
