Has anyone here played these? I know I've heard nothing but great things about Crosscode, but Hob seems a little less talked about. I tried the demo and instantly fell in love with it tho.

I haven't played it yet but Hob is on wish list and looks great - didn't know it was a Zelda clone though? Looks like it has its own gameplay mechanics and puzzles?

Same, I didn't know either of those were 2D Zelda-likes? I'm more interested now!

Hob is from the folks that made Torchlight which is diablo-esque. It has that DNA without the loot based stuff and focused on story and exploration. Well worth trying out the demo because it's the opening of the game and sells it really well. As for being Zelda-like, i'm only going off what my friend said lol. Crosscode is more old-school Arpg like Ys which is what sold me on it the first time.

Was not sure at first but no mate I've really grown to like her, think I've got all my favourites now. Sherb, Raymond, Stitches, Tangy, Antonio, Audie, Fauna... Basically most people's favourites.... I clearly have no mind of my own but bloody hell let's be honest, a lot of the villagers are ugly little buggers in these games

Is there really any chance that Game Pass could come to Switch? I would be all over if it did - but in my naivety I don't see;

1. What is in it for Microsoft? This gen I'm going to get a PS5 (when they're regularly available enough I can pick one up and buying one at any price feels like some sort of lottery and I don't have to worry about bots emptying my online trolley) - but was thinking about getting the Series S - for gamepass. Would Gamepass on Switch not affect x box hardware?
2. How a lot of x box games could run on the Switch?
3. How a Netflix style gaming subscription wouldn't hurt eshop sales? Perhaps people wouldn't be willing to pay for 1 indie eshop game when they can have availability for of multiple games for less money.

I would love it to be true - but it just seems a bit too consumer-friendly.....

First off, its Xbox, not x box and secondly, MS don't care what you play on, once you subscribe to Gamepass. This will in all likeliness be a streaming service only on switch.

Do Nintendo really want people subscribing to game pass and then switching over to a series x for the full experience? I just don't think its in their interest.

Streaming technology and internet latency via wifi simply isn't good enough anyway. I have fttp and still have a bad connection when remotely connecting via another 300mbps service. It's certainly a nice bonus, but I wouldn't pay for it as a stand alone service.

I can't see how Gamepass makes any commercial sense for Nintendo.

Does it even make commercial sense for Microsoft? Until Bethesda et al. start pumping out the big exclusives, Game Pass seems to be the best reason to own an X Box. (Unless you've got it on PC in which case you've still bought an MS machine.)

It makes commercial sense in terms of opening Game Pass to a whole range of additional customers. So they don't sell an Xbox and get their one-off income from it? Who cares if they sign someone new up and get them hooked on Game Pass for X months.

Game Pass streaming on phones is always going to be more of a niche because the devices aren't really designed for it, even the games they've added dedicated touch controls to don't really work well, but let people access Game Pass on a Switch - a dedicated gaming device with the ideal input mechanisms (lol stick drift) and that's a big group of people who are now tempted to buy in

Get 5G on a new model Switch (and charge additional NSO fees to use it :dread: ), and now you've got a dedicated Game Pass system that goes anywhere! It's a gold mine for Microsoft to exploit!

It's nin tendo who are more likely to suffer from a loss of indie sales if the same games appear on gamepass. Although it is streaming only, which requires internet access, then there would still be a differentiator.

Their main strategy at the moment seems to be to get as many people subscribing to Game Pass as possible and they don't mind how you do it. In the short-term obviously it's better for them if you buy an x box but they're thinking more long-term.

Yeah the focus for them now is absolutely Game Pass Everywhere™

I don't think the x box is going to disappear anytime soon but as time goes on the focus is definitely more on the service than the device used to access it.

Is that the next MS machine then?
