Yeah, the OLED is predominantly for folk who prefer portable play to TV play. I occasionally like to use the Switch on the big screen - and I love this core Switch capability! - but, generally, it's a handheld system for me.

Yeah to me it’s a handheld system first with the ability to output to a TV rather than the other way round.

Very happy with this so far. Screen feels enormous compared to my old switch lite. Only tried Metroid on it so far but that looks great.

Wish my image sig would work

The screen is lovely. My left joycon is a tad loose in the rail though. Shame as the right one feels perfect

Think its impossible to find any Switch (bar the Lite obvs) which doesn't have movement of some form in the rails.

My Switch is currently boxed away as I'm not using it (only have two games, BotW and Bayo 2, the latter of which I've never opened), but I never used it as a handheld as I had no need to. I was surprised at how good BotW looked through the 4K TV, I was expecting it to look a lot worse.

I think that your Bayonetta 2 game will include a download code for the Bayonetta game, Gemini - so it'd be worth a look :-) .

Yes, I felt that Switch looked very nice on my 4K screen, too. I suspect that it depends on the TV and any built-in up-rezzing software.

I believe that is the case. I still have a 360 version of Bayo 1 however.

Transfer all done, started the process of re-downloading some games. Initial impressions are that this system is a huge upgrade over the OG Switch in terms of handheld mode. That new screen is bigger and better than I personally expected, the images really do pop on the screen and look a lot nicer than on the OG Switch. The speakers are noticeably improved as well and the console just has a more ‘premium’ feel to it, I love it so far and it’s a worth while purchase for me.

Tried Super Mario 3D World and damn it looks brilliant, especially World 8 map screen! Tried The Witcher 3 as well and it also looks really good on the new screen.

Good to hear it’s a good upgrade for you, did you try any games back to back on both models?

I tried Mario 3D World and you can see the difference in how colourful the games are on the OLED, I know there’s no extra oomph inside the new model but the images do look better/crisper on the new screen. It’s also nice having a bigger screen to play on.

I never had an original Switch, so maybe it's the same with that, but it really surprised me how much heavier this is than the Switch Lite. I've had to order a longer HDMI cable before getting it all set up.

Tried out Smash, Xenoblade DE and Dragon Quest 11 on this today and all look great and really benefit from being on a bigger screen

I do wonder if we will get an OLED Lite model at some point with a bigger screen and maybe some fast charging tech inside too.

In terms of the current Switch, I think this wil be the last model we see of it. I could see a lite version of whatever the Switch successor launching with an OLED screen tho

I think Nintendo are going to do an upgraded Switch in a few years to extend the lifespan in the same way they did with the Game Boy Colour and Game Boy. It will have its own exclusives, but not many, and boost the older library.

You fall more into the Pro camp rather than Switch 2?
