Back in the old GR days that mags later incarnation NGC led to the birth of a thread... ITB which was a huge part of the forum, at the time of course, a fair few of us started out GR because of that thread and it can be dated back to MHTL's clinical addiction to Achievements.

I missed the N64 / NGC Mag love-in :(

Pretty sure I read some letters penned by folk still active here to this day. I know I wrote some!

Water Temple out of the way, always forget about the block that floats out of the way when you raise the level inside the central tower :fp:

I got a bonus letter

"I have a problem."

That's it

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

I wrote an article for EG once about the different way you thought about games and the gaming landscape because of the way one used to read about them in print and still images etc - and Jes Bickham messaged me on Facebook to say he enjoyed it and that was A Good Day! :D

I think this is the article, Cora - although doc may need to confirm. I'm gonna check it out tonight!

Edit: I hope that doc won't mind me highlighting this, but here is a link to all 17 of his articles published on Eurogamer. They're well worth a read!

:!:

17 eh? Now I know! That's very kind of you jawa to post that!

Not sure whether or not they are still worth a read (looking at them now, some I'm a lot more happy with than others... but such is the way!), but in case of interest the video game magazine one is actually this one:

Into the second part of the Spirit Temple now, will definitely have OoT finished today or tomorrow, then I’ll be focusing on Banjo Kazooie. Other than some minor issues with the right stick being a little too sensitive sometimes it’s been really good to play through this again.

Nice one lads, I'll have a wee saunter through them this afternoon.

Robbo - I found BK slightly easier to play through with the XBOX controller, but I'm really glad they've seen a re-release on a Nintendo console at last. There was a bizarre stat for many years that you could play more N64 games on the XBOX than the Switch!

Sounds ridiculous but it just feels right playing Banjo on a Nintendo system rather than the superior Xbox version (which I have also played), not had chance to finish the Spirit temple off as of yet so that’s looking more likely to be completed tomorrow as Ganon’s Castle doesn’t take long really.

No I do get where you're coming from - there's something slightly dissonant about playing the Rare classic collection on the One, it just feels a little wrong!

It does, I started Conker and Banjo Tooie on there but never got around to finishing them so I’m hoping both of those might come to the Switch Online at some point down the line, I guess Banjo Tooie is almost certain to be on there at some point, guess the age rating for Conker might put them off

I may have used cheats in Conker to blast out the achievements and then never went back to it.

Went through all of BT though, for the first time! Fantastic game, if a little worse than BK. I also felt that Nuts and Bolts was hugely underrated, but that is for a different thread.
