This would have been your previous character right? The whole thing was you respawned as a new character, but could find your previous character now as a zombie and take back your inventory.

It wasn’t my previous character. I don’t know if it was some kind of glitch because the game had locked me out but it was a random zombie with a ridiculous amount of guns and ammo, which made the last part of the game much easier.

Back when it was still active, zombies of people from your friends list could appear in your game. It only happend a few times for me, but they had some good stuff on them.

Could have been that but I’m not sure I actually had any friends in my Wii U list. This also happened to me this year.

Wii U is still plugged in. It's a good machine for emulation.
Never got very far in Zombii U

ZombiU is brilliant - so many great memories playing through that. I got right up to the very final part before a bug in the game meant I couldn’t finish it, so I ended up having to watch the final sequence on YouTube.

I can still remember most of the game areas fully - always a good sign of a classic.

What was the bug? Because something similar happened to me and I managed to work around it.

It was a long time ago so I can’t fully remember - something about getting out of a bunker in the Palace iirc, not 100%. Something glitched when some zombies blew up and an event didn’t trigger.

A lot of later patches came out - so I expect it was fixed at some point.

There was a bit at the end where you could get completely locked out and basically have to go through the whole game again but without enemies.

I know the pain, as it happened to me.

However, on the way back, I rain into a zombie with a ridiculous amount of guns and ammo, who I killed and then managed to complete the game.

I just remember it being really buggy. The rest of the game wasn't anywhere near that level of bugginess.

It seems that the young child of a gamer in Japan put a wedding ring into their Wii U console. Nintendo came to the rescue, retrieving the ring and restoring the Wii U.

It's quite funny playing Zombii U lately as I'm pretty sure I've seen randos and well as members on here who probably haven't played the game in at least 5 years, so the server is still exchanging data like that. It's oddly surreal.

"Oh it's Matt, I remember Mario Kart Monday's"

I think perhaps the game got patched or they've retained Wii U client compatibility in the PS4 version which is still for sale somewhere. That's pretty good of Ubisoft and servers have definitely gotten taken offline for far more popular games.

Great to hear that you're still experiencing the power of the U, Gecko. That "some of the zombies are my online pals!" feature is pretty cool!

Yeah honestly I doubt I would notice that feature on another console because it wasn't Club U where I hand't the funds or the interest to purchase a PS4 or Xbox One :toot:

That was a cool feature, even if it was faked a little as you've spotted.

We got the Wii U out for a Christmas eve session, and god Nintendoland is so disappointing to play. Visually it doesn't really look like a Nintendo game, just some strange blue void with gates in it. How do you have the entire Nintendo visual language available to build a fantasy them park...and come up with this? The asymmetrical play style is a pain in the arse too, as it's usually weighted towards 1 v 4 in competitive games, so playing with 2 of us makes the player with the fisher price controller almost the guaranteed winner. Co-op games are thin on the ground and generally dull. Why couldn't everything have a single player, co-op and competitive mode? The most interesting stuff for me tends to be single player, and having to wait your turn is a gooseberry fool way to play. After a few hours we got bored of playing that, put Wii sports on and had a great time.

"You've not even played it!?!1?1!?"

Oh. Hang on... you have.

I do kinda agree on some of those points, Ad. The general look of the fairground and characters is a bit odd and not really to my taste. And, yeah, the single and multiplayer games mashed up together isn't ideal.

Asymmetrical play can be fantastic, though. I played Mario Chase with my nephews quite a few times and it was so funny; it probably helped that they were younger but we laughed so much! The Gamepad was utilised well in being able to see the other players and I felt it just clicked.

Overall, though, I'd agree that it is a little hit and miss. Personally I'd still pin it down as one of my fave multiplayer experiences on the U, though.

Wii Sports - and Resort even more so - is dang legendary in my eyes. The Remote Plus usage on the Resort bowling and table tennis games is tremendous.

I'd also recommend Wii Party as a fun multiplayer. It got a kinda lukewarm reception at launch because of the mass of "party" games around on the Wii but it has some excellent, fun, simple-to-play mini games.

I traded in Nintendo Land against something else, think it was Xenoblade or whatever. It doesn't really meet its full poential without 3 or more players, yeah. And I barely dug into it as a consequence. I vaguely remember games like the Metroid and Luigi's MAnsion ones being well crafted in principle, they just needed the full gamut of players.

Wii U party, which came free with my console (together with Nintendo Land, Super Mario 3D World AND Mario Kart 8, which always was an insanely good deal, I even got money off that with that Flubit thing) is much better for 2 players and the simple mini games.

Banjo-Kazooie and Blast Corps were listed by Nintendo Japan as releasing on the Wii U Virtual Console service today! .

It appears to be some kind of mistake as they have not actually appeared on the store. It sure would be neat if they did, though!

Maybe it's Wii U VC section for the switch.

Ports of emulator ports

Nintendo Japan wrote:"Banjo-Kazooie's Adventure" and "Blast Dozer" have been posted as Wii U software delivered on December 30, 2020, but they will not be delivered. We apologize for the correction. (2020.12.30)

Dang. It did seem a bit odd although I wonder how you can accidentally post that two old Rare games will be launching? Oh, and I never knew that B-K was known as Banjo-Kazooie's Adventure in Japan.
