The carpet though...

It looks like gooseberry fool pub carpet.

It's not a carpet. It's a huge moth-eaten rug

It seems to be working fine now, just not BotW. Should probably recover it again to stop dust getting in, but I kind of like the look of just the electricals

Hacked the Wii U AND installed BotW. Might try installing some GameCube games next

I was thinking about Watch Dogs and how it's still surprising that the game arrived on the Wii U. Ubisoft did a good job with the port; we know that the framerate was a bit shaky but to get such a big, openworld game on the U was, looking back, pretty impressive.

The Wii U is eight years old today!

Back on 18 November 2012 - which feels like a long time ago, now! - the Wii U launched in the US. A little later, on 30 November, it was the UK launch and I had the fantastic Wii U ZombiU Premium Pack: Limited Edition.

Let's see what that gorgeous box contained!

The excitement of opening that box up and setting up the system... such good memories.

So, happy birthday, Wii U! And a hearty shout out to all of you who are still rockin' the system. Club U lives! :toot: .

Do you still have your Wii U? Share you fond memories of the system here!

I also had the Zombi U pack and I have to say it was a fantastic game and I really really wish there was a sequel. The game was dripping with atmosphere.

It sure was a great launch pack, 'Bones. ZombiU is good but I've never played too much of it... way too creepy  .

ZombiU was such a good game, kind of hope Ubisoft bring the re-release titled Zombi to the Switch at some point, one of the few games where I’ve loved the perma death mechanic.

I loved my Wii U, was there on launch day till the bitter end (almost) with BoTW, such a good but just didn’t sell :(

It was frightening. I played it through in the first weeks of the first lockdown and it seemed very apt.

It reminded me of Condemned in places, was really hoping for a sequel but seems like it didn’t sell well enough to warrant one ...

Yeah they really nailed the atmosphere with it too, even areas you’d already been through still had that sense of trepidation about them!

I havent touched my Wii U for awile but I really really liked it. ZombiU was amazing and I still play that off and on now just the Xbox port, I think it was a very fresh and well thought out game which even after being ported to PS4 and Xbox One has never got the attention it deserved all along.

I might check the Microsoft store and see how much it’d be to download it on my Series X, would be good to replay it at some point.

Zombi U was/is so underrated. It had really good graphics, the atmosphere was amazing and it actually made good use of the stupid gamepad with that guy talking to you through it. I also found the UK setting really refreshing after all the usual MURCA things we get given. Going through Buckingham palace was so cool.

I really enjoyed the usual suspects like Smash and Xenoblade but the gamepad left me cold. It was the only way of calling up the map in XCX which was annoying if you just wanted to play it with a Pro Controller.

It was honestly the only Nintendo console I haven't been excited about before launch.

I really liked Zombi U, except for the last bit of it. They really should make another one and expand on the good bits.

I never finished ZombiU but it is a great game. The asymmetrical multiplayer is even more criminally overlooked than the singleplayer (as it's not even in the Zombi multi plat port)

Yeah the multiplayer was great too! :toot:

The single player could have definitely been improved on, the cricket bat was awful for anything barring the standard zombies, loads of them you basically stood there and bashed their head in for a relative age

I never got more than a few hours into Zomii U and I have no excuse. Still have the console set up and just finished Wind Waker HD so maybe I will dip into that next after I finished Resi 7 on PS Now.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

There was a bit at the end where you could get completely locked out and basically have to go through the whole game again but without enemies.

I know the pain, as it happened to me.

However, on the way back, I rain into a zombie with a ridiculous amount of guns and ammo, who I killed and then managed to complete the game.
