Bloody 1800s.

For those who were interested in Rodea: The Sky Soldier, the price has been slowly dropping on Amazon. I've been tracking it since last Thursday when it was price at around £23, today its showing as £20.83 so i've used flubit to get a -£20 price

I'm obviously out of the loop. What is this, what's it for, and what are the benefits?

Is it some kind of service like iTunes?

Nintendo Account replaces Club Nintendo, AXL. It will keep a record of your Nintendo purchases and offer rewards. However, its key function is expected to be as a means of a single logon for all Nintendo services. The benefits of this latter aspect are not yet clear but it may allow for a truly account-based system i.e. logging on to any Nintendo console and accessing your software purchases.

I am now Nintendo Accounted, too :toot: .

It seems that, after signing up, you can logon with your email address or NNID (each of which has a different password).

Thanks, I guess I'll sign up :)

Hopefully it means that once we've bought one Virtual Console game, we own it on all systems and don't need to pay each time we want it again.

Edit - are the Nicknames unique, or can everyone choose the same one?

Nintendo points will only be valid for 6 months apparently... So I guess that if you want to get the real cool stuff out of it (like Game & Watch games, etc.) you'll need to spend a lot of money on Nintendo products in a short time...

Problem with that is, Nintendo have big software lulls where nothing gets released for months at a time. They need to remedy that before this point system comes into play

Is that based on anything other than it saying the miitomo points will expire after 6 months?

Yeah, I think the six month aspect is a bit of a red herring. The initial point(s) that you get for registering for Miitomo will only last for six months but, based on what I've read so far, there hasn't been anything to suggest that other gained points will only remain valid for six months.

Nintendo Life has put togther a great article that covers Nintendo Account, My Nintendo and Miitomo - click here to take a look.

In the Nintendo account thread, people mentioned how Wii U games could potentially become rare and desirable to collectors in the future. I've been collecting all the big physical copy games for Wii U as I regretted not buying all the GC games back in the day!

Anyone else collecting the disc based products? Anything in particular people think might end up rare/hard to get for a decent price in the future? The main one I can see is the latest Project Zero game

I was focussing on expanding my Wii U disc collection, magic, but my past few titles have been digital versions. I think some U disc titles will become very scarce - particularly some of the awful titles such as the fitness releases!

I don't have anything too rare beyond Transformers Prime and The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. The Pac Ghostly and Sonic Boom titles seem to be reasonably uncommon, too.
