I think that it's there already.

My Wii U journey has been something of a farce. I sold Nintendoland and Tropical Freeze mostly unplayed. I skipped Splatoon. I skipped Smash Bros. I sold Mario Maker after a fortnight. Wind Waker is gathering dust. I played Toad for half a day. The only games I've put a decent number of hours into are Mario Kart, 3D World and Bros U.

If I'm honest here it seems the problem is you, not the Wii U.

Oh I agree. I did specify my "Wii U journey", not the Wii U itself.

Good shout - you're right, Dragon... Resi 4 is in the Euro eShop already!

I'm not too keen on the pricing of the Wii Virtual Console releases. For me, eighteen quid seems too much. If they were a tenner or maybe twelve pounds then I'm sure I'd be way more tempted; so far I've only picked up Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid Trilogy and Xenoblade because of the cheaper launch offers.

When I got the Wii U I also sought out some Wii games since I missed that console and I wanted to catch up. So far, pretty much everything in the Wii VC has been the stuff I picked up on disc when I got the Wii U. Metroid Prime Trilogy was particularly irritating, I found a good copy on eBay, paid about €60 for it and the day after it arrived they announced the launch of the Wii VC and Metroid Prime Trilogy would be a tenner.

Rax, if you wanted to sell it then complete copies can still fetch around £40 to £50 on eBay - maybe more if in mint condition.

I know but now I have it I kinda want to keep onto it. Its on a nice sheltered shelf so no harm in keeping it for a bit to see if the value goes up later. :)

Take this rumour with a pinch of salt but Emily Rogers (the tweet in question has been deleted) and Eurogamer seem to believe that Mother 3 is finally coming westward around April to coincide with the 20th Anniversary of it's original release

It kind of fits with how they've been operating. If most of their dev teams have moved onto NX, then bringing over older Japanese games or doing digital releases of old games is an easy way to fill out the year. Now if they could just give us Cube games on the Wii U to go out with...

I think this is a certainty at this point. A few years ago, things were very different, you wouldn't have ever imagined Nintendo translating these games. They obviously see the virtue in doing so now.

I'll buy it, even though Earthbound didn't click with me.

I think it Dala didn't talk about it then it's happening.

These Brazilian folk certainly know how to have a great time with Mario... behold the Super Mario street parade!

I love it that a little "Pause" sign is held up at the end  .

So I think I'm going to need to reformat my Wii U and lose all my saves :(

I keep getting error messages when trying to download updates for games. This means games like Smash I cant play online because I cant update. The OS is also prone to freezing and crashing meaning I have to restart.

I've emailed Nintendo and they've suggested sending it off for a free assessment but I'll have to pay for a repair as it's out of warranty. I think I'll just restore to factory settings and suck it up.

Unbelievable that in 2016 Nintendo offers me noway of uploading my saves to the cloud or even just transferring to a USB-if I do this, they won't work with my reformatted Wii U apparently :fp:

You also might lose your games you've purchased, as well any DLC unless you send it to Nintendo :<

I'm still waiting on account system ;_;

No you won't. They're tied to your NNID so you should be able to just redownload them.

Can you recover NNID when you do factory reset on Wii U though?

You should be able to sign in with it again as it's the same console. My understanding is that you only need to contact Nintendo to transfer your NNID to a new console if you don't have the old one.

It is always worth copying your saves to a usb stick, so there is a method of backup at least. I've sort of done it by accident as I tried to use a usb stick and it sort of worked, moved to hard disk and then kept the data lying around.

Except if you reformat the Wii U, your backup saves can't be transferred.

Because Nintendo. :fp:
