Anyone else have a different "last game" for the system? I'd imagine that Zelda BotW could be a popular one!

Yeah, my last was Darksiders. Would have been Axiom Verge if they'd ever actually released the bloody thing.

Sadly I think the Wii U's first and final years were its weakest, though of course BotW was a great send off. My final title was Paper Mario: Colour Splash which I adored the writing in but unfortunately the battle system was very dull...I'd love to see that game get a Deluxe treatment with 60fps and a good few design chases, the localisation is too good to be anchored to it.

Everything in between those first and last years though was generally pretty terrific, I've got so many 100+ hour playtimes on Wii U games. Basically ran my extended battery down to the gamepad's battery from use, though that is partly down to the gamepad always having to be on...

That one's a shame as Metroidvanias are a treat when you have a second screen on standby for map

I still buy titles for it as they become a reasonable price or I see a decent second hand copy. Last at release game was probably Pokken.

One day I'll probably pick up BotW for it as well, just for the sake of having it as I've already completed it on Switch and it's the better version.

I keep wanting to do this for the same reason and have to tell myself I'd be wasting my money

Yeah, I'll only do it if I can find it for a decent price.

I remember asking Captain Viridian in early 2013 about the release schedule.

Ha! Though I'm guessing that March one was before Rayman Legends got delayed D:

Love that these are all preserved by the way!

You know, I couldn't think what came out in late March to make me assign that smiley verdict... so I've checked and I think it was The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct   ... :toot: .

Lego City: Undercover, Need for Speed: Most Wanted U and Monster Hunter 3: Ultimate launched then, too.

Ha!

When I was working at a school a few years back, one of the kids was pretending to play Walking Dead in the school yard at break because he had that game on Wii U, there's at least one other person in the UK who bought it!!

Plot twist: That kid was me  .

Scanned eBay and the game now sells for anything between £17 to £29 :o .

Ooh no kidding!

Wouldn't surprise me if Wii U releases regularly retain value, certainly a lot of post launch titles. ZombiU seems to be the one game that struggles to rise above £5 :p

I suspect that U titles could become quite collectible in years to come. Yeah, ZombiU is currently really cheap - under £2 in many cases! I've still not played much of it because I find it to be pretty tough... and just too creepy  .
