It's not perfect but it remains one of the best games build around the GamePad

I knew that was something only GRcade would write. I honestly almost fell for it as well and was going to ask if that was genuine.

Oh look, a Wii U thread! :toot:

Black Flag is a must have for £5 on the off chance no one has played it yet, even just for a pirate game.

Well I haven't played any of those yet.

I recently picked up Star Wars Pinball which is great (if only 3 - three! - tables), quite a lot of games actually. If anyone were still posting in this thread I'd be posting updates as I check pretty much every week for bargains.

So I think my Gamepad is buggered. Hadn't touched the Wii U since last Christmas when I played through Windwaker HD. Went to pull it out to play Superstar Saga through the Virtual Console and my Gamepad won't charge. Ordered a replacement battery which came today, but it still won't charge. Is there any other way to charge the thing other than through a power socket? I could at least try to see if it's the charger then, so I don't have to order one, wait a few days, and then find out it still won't work.

Kind of annoying as even though I use the Pro Controller when given the choice, there are some games I'm yet to play that require the gamepad. For all the talk of Nintendo quality, out of all the gaming devices I've ever had, this is only the second one that's broken, and the first was an imported OG DS. Had an 1st year PS2 and a 1st year 360, and they both still work :( Probably going to cost a silly amount to get fixed now.

How long have you left it plugged in? My Gamepass seemed dead after a lack of use once but I left it plugged in for an hour or two and it started working.

Not that long! Probably 30 min max. Will try this!

Mine has randomly not lit up before and then worked again. I'd give it a few more goes, maybe try a different socket. You can also try a replacement power supply or cleaning the contacts.

If it is dead and needs fixing, I'd be interested in a black one.

There's also 2 ways to charge it; in the stand at the bottom, or directly into the top.

The battery on my gamepad seems to be a bit crap these days. I figure it's just going the way of all rechargeable batteries. I just play it plugged up.

Given it 3 hours and still nothing. Ordered a USB charging cable for it so I can check if it's the adaptor.

Seen some people say the motherboard in the gamepad can go, so will try that as the next step. If I can get this working again, going to have to look up which of my games absolutely need the gamepad and try and get through them sooner than later.

If it's truly dead I'll definitely take it off your hands for a reshell of mine as I want black analogue sticks.

Mine only lasts 3 hours or so but don't do that, it's the worst thing you can do to lithium ion batteries. It'll end up lasting barely 20 minutes.

You want to keep lithium batteries cycling somewhere between 10% and 100% and store at around 30-40% charge.

Have you tried using the cradle to charge it rather than the port on the top? It could be that connection is dodgy and the connector on the bottom may work.

It's a white one, not black.

Yeah, tried both ways. Hoping it's the charger as when googling all this, it seems like them going is surprisingly common.
