I didn't know this was even on Netflix. That's great news, much better than streaming a blurry version from couchtuner! Thanks.

Edit, by last you mean final, right? And not last as in the last one shown in the UK (on C4)?

Episode 10.

Final for the series. :D

Can you turn off subtitles?

I was a little underwhelmed by the finale. It was very well executed but I think it was one of the weaker episodes overall. Quite disappointed we didn't get the Molly/Malvo showdown and that it was Gun who ultimately took him down and I felt like it was lot more predictable than episodes prior. Perhaps coming off of Ep 9 (which was amazing) made it seem a little worse than it actually was simply by comparison. Still, there were some great moment; Odenkirk's retirement monologue and Molly's dad sitting outside with a shotgun with Greta were two of my favourite scenes throughout the entire series.

Overall though, an excellent season and I can't wait to see where they take it from here and what leads they end up going with for Season 2.

Should probably watch the film now. :shifty:

I know what you mean - it wasn't exactly a Breaking Bad-level finale. And you haven't seen the film yet? You'll enjoy it, but don't expect too much in common with the series. You might find a surprising amount of humour, actually, that was lacking in the series.

There's quite a lot in common with the movie, even the ending. There's also quite a few moments that are obvious nods to the film - there's even a direct link. I quite enjoyed how they recalled certain scenes or the subtle differences and references. Already looking forward to a second season.

Judging by the lack of replies in this thread it doesn't look like there was much buzz surrounding this series or the final episode. Unless you've all been commenting in the US TV thread.

Good show, liked the ending. Not as good an episode as the penultimate but still had me shouting at the telly.

Enjoyed that. Not a great finale but there wasn't much else that could be done. I'd rather it was left as 1 series unless they set it somewhere different with a completely fresh cast.

Anyone else notice the fox, chicken and cabbage conundrum given to Lester was the same one given to tim in the office? Had to be intentional.

I've read that Fargo would be like American Horror Story, like completely new characters and story line every season.

Just got around to watching this and I loved the episode. It was very unconventional which was great. I didn't want some predictable showdown and I'm glad they didn't go that way. Overall, an absolutely sublime show, best of the year so far. The strawberry floating music at the end from the movie! Molly's anecdote about the gloves was probably the best scene of the episode. Looking on various forums there seems to be a dozen different theories about what it meant, but what I got from it at least was that she was saying if Lester just did the good thing and told the truth then other people would have benefited. He already lost one glove (his wives) and if he gave up the other (the truth about everything) then other people would benefit (people wouldn't have died). The two gloves being Malvo & Lester and Molly giving up on them finally to let someone else in charge kinda fits too but I prefer the former.

It hasn't been announced but zero chance it doesn't get renewed given all the acclaim. They'll probably wait until they have the cast locked down before announcing, the same reason it's thought that True Detective's renewal hasn't been formally announced yet either.

And after reading the above I realised another reason to love it:

No strawberry floating difficult to hear/understand mumbling "acting".

As expected, FX has ordered a new season of "Fargo." And, as expected, it'll follow the "American Horror Story"/"True Detective" model of starting over from scratch.

Per FX's announcement this morning at the Television Critics Association press tour, "The new chapter of the 'Fargo' story will feature an all-new cast of characters, a new time period and a new 'true crime' story that will unfold over the course of 10 episodes."

One aspect of the acclaimed original season that won't change: Noah Hawley, who wrote all 10 episodes of season 1 — and who did a remarkable job of evoking the work of the Coen brothers without seeming like a bad imitator — will remain in charge of the show.

Many viewers had speculated that a second season would deal with the Sioux Falls case from the late '70s that Keith Carradine's character, Lou Solverson, kept alluding to. The mention of a new time period supports that theory, though the "all-new cast of characters" does not. For what it's worth, Hawley has been very cagey about the idea of a Sioux Falls season both times I've asked him.

But with such a terrific first season — and one that drew 18 Emmy nominations — I'm ready to trust Hawley on whatever he tries to do next with this world.

UPDATE: FX's John Landgraf said that the earliest the new "Fargo" season could debut would be fall of 2015, and that there will be "an all-new cast of actors," rather than taking the "American Horror Story" approach of recycling actors in new roles. There will be a panel later today with Hawley and producer Warren Littlefield, so we'll have more detail then.

A new time period? I wonder how far back they would go. A series set earlier in the 20 century could be awesome.

Hopefully there will be less of 'characters turning around or going to the toilet so the badguy can get stuff done' writing as seen in the first series.
