Those interviewing Polyphony Digital legend Kazanori Yamauchi at E3 tomorrow have been told not to ask questions about Gran Turismo 5, VG247 has learned.

Meaning? Well, presumably that the game du jour for the Sony car kids is going to be GT PSP only.

SCEA’s John Koller confirmed GT was on the way to PSP Go in the “leaked” Qore ep this weekend, and it now looks clear the focus will be on the handheld title as far as Gran Turismo’s concerned.

Why the sadness? PGR4 and Forza 2 are the bigger franchises now.

Are they retarded? Prologue was out ages ago. It should be released by now yet they're not even going to show it. Polyphony are taking the piss. Their success has got to them that they think they can piss about like this. The game needs hype.

Seems PSP is the format Sony are trying to push this year. And Gran Turismo 5 is too big a game and will over shadow Gran Turismo Portable :cry:

Maybe Sony are doing a Nintendo and focusing on the handheld market to make money?

That's a bit of an odd request, to not ask someone about their biggest franchise (with an expected game coming) during one of the biggest events of gaming.

So maybe there will be something?

GT PSP, in dev since 2005?

This is becoming the Duke Nukem Forever of the racing genre, isn't it?

That would be the PSP version. The PS3 is being sent to die by Sony. The biggest franchise they have is Gran Turismo and now with it missing E3 means a 2010 release at the earliest.

GT5 won't lose E3 for Sony if they still have the megatons the other guys have been so excited over.

We've got the Toyko Gameshow for this. Let GT PSP have it's time in the sun. Like KKlein said we have been waiting a strawberry floating long time for this one.

Neither would I. I don't think what I have seen will be at E3. In fact a reveal this year looks likely to be out of the question. Shadow may have seen something different and further down the line than I have as he is internal to Sony and I only work for a 3rd party dev.

I can see it becoming a testbed for drip-feeding you content via DLC on the PSP. Every month or so, new cars and/or tracks get released. All the basic game is, is the bottom-end cars, the license tests and a couple of events. After all, isn't that what they considered doing with GT5, and with a download-only console, it seems like the perfect time for them to pull something like this.

Racing trailers do nothing for me anyway, so I'm not bothered about it being absent so long as it makes this year. And I agree about the Sony "MEGATON", I'm prepared to be disappointed. In fact I'd say there's a one in five chance I'll be

at it.
