I think it's gonna be all updates bar the past two (which should come in the future) and any multiplayer-only stuff.

I'm excited to see this on Switch and I can't wait to try it... albeit I struggle to think how this will run on Switch!

We're getting close to the release date* now and - although "I'm excited!" - I would like to see footage of the game actually running on Switch.

I feel that this may be one of the biggest challenges for the Switch so far; I hope the wee system is gonna be up to it. I'm eager to see if this miracle can be delivered!

...thanks, SoK!

Dang it, I still haven't returned to No Man's Sky, which seems pretty crazy after how I enjoyed it a few years back. Maybe if I started out now on the PlayStation version, that would give me a good base from which to assess the Switch version.

Bumping this thread. I got the Switch version, very nicely ported. Low Res but you can't complain. Still waiting for 4.0 update on that.

Downloaded the 4.0 update on the Series X. Relaxed mode is a fantastic addition and it's fully customisable. Its great to be able to set the resources you want to worry about. The default setting turns off life support, so that's one less bit of constant hassle. You can pretty much set everything to how you want it, which is great for me as the only thing that put me off the normal game is the constant hassle of recharging everything.

Then for the proper functions of the game, you can set how fast your resources deplete like the mining laser for example.

Just need that update rolled out to the Switch version now as I feel I'll probably be spending most of my time on that going forward.

Still no 4.0 on Switch. Apparently, not confirmed by Hello Games, it's with Nintendo for approval so could be god knows how long.

I'm about 2 hours in now. Really need that relaxed mode as I'm hitting the point where constantly recharging absolutely everything is a ball ache.

It is indeed! Lots of old schoolers are upset that the patch has messed I their inventories. To be honest, I am over the moon. This latest patch has removed all the annoying stuff like constant recharging of everything, constant refuelling, constant mining. Those gameplay loops were far too intrusive for me to actually explore.

But this patch is perfect. Aside from the problem it caused with some peoples inventory, they have allowed the player to play exactly as they want. Whatever suits your style.

I now have my Switch version for when I'm lazy, but the main console version is now so user friendly I've got my 8 year old on it. So I'm starting a new save on my Series X tomorrow so I can join him on his planet tomorrow and see if it's possible to set up my own base next to his.

I briefly played him kind of co-op on an old save tonight, and it was incredible coming down onto a planet and landing next to where he was stood. It's pretty much how I envisaged Elite going when I was a kid. Unfortunately they went down the full space sim route, although I won't diss them for it as Elite Dangerous is an incredible sequel. Its just too hardcore for me these days. NMS is now virtually perfect though.

Apparently killing the Sentinel capital ship when having a 5 star rating will get you a reward that will help you track down your own interceptor. mmmmm

I wonder when they will stop updating it. I would like to replay the game but I almost think I should wait for the "final" experience - I'll probably only properly get into it once more so if I play it now that means missing any future content!

^ Sneak preview of the Echoes update... supposedly out today! There looks to be some great new stuff including large space battles and a "holographic museum".
